Unhappy What should I do? Moral dilemma...

Ok, I really want to pick up a new Pioneer Elite 60" KURO.
The Pioneer would be going into our great room and it would be our main TV watching display.

Here's the dilemma...

We currently have a Sony 35" CRT XBR (made in Japan) in the great room that I have had since new (11+ years). The Sony TV has an amazing picture even though it's only 480i and the internal speakers are very powerful and crystal clear.
We have had no problems with this TV and it still performs like new.

The Wife and I have agreed that as soon as the Sony dies we will replace it with the Pioneer but I'm starting to worry as I don't think this Sony will ever die.

I could just get rid of it and the problem would be solved but I feel loyal to the TV as it has given me years of trouble free service and it now feels like part of the family. I know that it's just a material item but having it taken away would be the equivalent of having my dog put down.

Part of me wants it to die as I could then replace it with the Pioneer but the other part of me wants it to live forever.

What should I do?

Zak
