Default Need help w/ firmware update please!

Okay I've never done a firmrware update before and I dont want to screw up. I'm not real computer savvy and know just the basics,I have a Sharp Aquos BD Player BD-HP20,and it's slow as molasses loading anything(actually it has alway been pretty slow, cant figure that out cause Sharp's a good brand),including DVD's by the way! Now it wont play certain discs at all.i tried B H Chihuhua, and super slow loading and NO FREKING SOUND,my 5 year old nephew was a little pissed, well at least we have Scooby Doo from Warner and no prob w/ that one! My new Samsung is a quick as lightning!,Go figure? Any help with this matter would be most awesome, thanks! I just dont want screw up my expensive player!

Go to this url: http://www.sharpusa.com/products/Typ...86,229,00.html. Now, your new firmware is only about five days old. This may help as well. I would follow the instructions on how to install the new firmware for this model. Nice model as well. You can also download this file to your desktop and unzip it and follow the instructions included in the compressed file. Good luck Mr. White.

download the BD-HP20U Firmware

(you dont have a BD-HP21U / BD-HP50U)

and you are most likely going to need a CD-R disc.

Follow these instructions on burning the firmware to disc:

Download the firmware update. (remember where you saved it)

Download/install DVD Decrypter.

Place a blank cd in the drive.

Open dvd decrypter, go to:

Mode -> ISO -> Write

...select the firmware location.

...Then Burn.

My player does not have a USB slot! Guess my player is uesless now,off to buy another one tomorrow,a real waste of 399.99 + tax when I bought it at BB ,just last year! Bummer! Off to the curbside for this player, maybe! Had the thing for a little over 13 months!

DVD players dont need damn upgrades, this sucks! For as much as one spends on a Blu Palyer they should work great right out of the box!

yeah, thats the usb connection for the firmware updates. (read your user manual! pg.45)

To actually open the download, you need to "unzip" it with a program like winrar (trial version)

its a small program, but I feel you on putting extra stuff on the hard drive. (has no viruses though)

I guess if its too much hassle, you could always try and sell the player in the buy/sell/trade section. (include pictures will help your cause)

Then just buy a player that has an ethernet connection for updates.

Is there somewhere I can buy the update on a USB? I'll gladly pay! Wish I new more about computers!!!,I sure wish the folks at Sharp would make players that play all Blu's,they charge enough for the damn thing! I mean DVD players never had this problem, just take out of the box, plug in and enjoy!
