Next firmware update - Blu-ray Forum

How anyone know when the next ps3 firmware update is coming out and what we'll get with it? I know that in game xmb was mentioned and is being worked on right now. What more can Sony add to the ps3 that isn't already there?

2.40 should be coming around june, rumor has it that in game XMB, and trophies will be in 2.40 when mgs4 hits.

What will trophies do? Trophies will be part of home, as far as I know.

All the rumors say it will be slightly before the release of MGS4. It should include in-game XMB, and 2-D trophies that you and friends can access from the XMB. They will not be the same 3-D trophies that will be in Home, but they will be the same accomplishment. The 2-D trophies we start earning next month will then be 3-D versions of the same thing in Home when released.

I've read that it will be in an added space under your name. It will list the games you've played and the trophies you've earned and the trophies you've yet to earn. There are many sites talking about these rumors... here's one:
