Default Paramount officially cancels Blu-ray SKUs

QUOTE
It remains unclear how long Paramount's previously-released Blu-ray titles will remain on store shelves, and/or whether they're even included in the terms of the studio's exclusivity pact with HD DVD. Needless to say, we'll let you know as soon as any official information comes in.”

I think we will soon learn that all Paramount BLU-Ray titles will be out of production. I plan on purchasing many BLU-Ray paramount titles since they are now most likely out of print. If a working combo player comes on the market I will then purchase my first HD-DVD discs from Universal Studios and Paramount Pictures. Right now I am 100% supporting BLU-RAY but that could change when working combo players appear that play both formats.

Here is a list of Paramount titles which are all most likely out of print

I have many prerecorded out of print movies on the 1080I D-VHS format that are worth money to some collectors. For example movies that go out of print sometimes can sale for more then twice the purchase price if it is still the best version.
My point is everyone who owns a BLU-RAY player should buy Paramount BLU-RAY titles they are interested in before it is to late. Once they are out of print on BLU-RAY the only other choice is HD-DVD. In theory you should be able to resale them on EBAY at top dollar one day.

Mission Impossible is porbably my only movie in that list. The rest I really don't care.

As for Transformers and Shriek The Third, I always can rent it and RIP on DVD.

The manufacturing cost is a bunch of BS. Blu-ray is now the leading format, It sells more copies than HD DVD, so why the sudden change? Paramount probably been given a handout by Microsoft to jump to HD DVD.

Still HD DVD does not offer consumers choice to which player they can have. It's either Toshiba or Toshiba. In order to kill HD DVD off once and for all, we need to boycot Toshiba untill they realse a Blu-ray player. Without Toshiba, HD DVD would be dead. Curse Microsoft and their evil digital empire.

Eveyone should start using Linux and stick it to the man.

I would like to see the contract! I wonder when they will release it to the public.
I want to see what exactly is included in the exclusivity agreement. Are the current releases going to be stripped off the shelves, is my main question!!!

I think Paramount may buckle under the pressure honestly.

Well, if Paramount does bow to pressure, this would turn out to be a serious "counter-attack" to the HD-DVD camp and shows that Blu-ray is indeed the format winner not only in sales but in consumer sentiment, regardless of price.

You might not be alone, the former editor of PC Magazine agrees with you.
