Default Definitive Pro 800 or KEF 3005?

Hey guys I need some help I thinking of up grading my speakers. I've narrowed it down to the Definitive Technology Pro 800 or the KEf 3005 I like them both and I can get both for a good price. I decided to go with the Denon 3808 receiver. So I would like to hear other people opion on these speakers and if I should consider any other ones I'm looking for satelite speakers because I live in a apartment so I don't need towers. So please let me know what you guys think Thanks.

Well I had the Pro cinema 1000 for fronts and 800s for rears and thought they were very goof for HT! I really can't comment on the Kefs since I haven't had a chance to audition them. Here's my take, the Procinemas were so good that they prompted me to want and get better speakers

Both are good speakers for their class - so they are worthy of a demo - Demo them and get the ones you like best.

What price can you get them for? Here is a link for another speaker that has gotten amazing reviews...

They system runs for $1500, browse for reviews on google, but the system is awesome, my friend got them and loves them. They are the Quad L-ite system.

However, out of the two you have it narrowed down to, its a toss up for me. I have listened to the def tech's hundreds of times, and the KEF's quite a few times as well. I like both, you need to make sure you have a good sub, neither get that deep, as they are satellites.

Hey sokrman the Def Tech's I'm looking at $64 each speaker I already have the Pro center 1000 which I got when I worked at Best buy it's cheaper to get the Def Tech because I don't need the Sub or center. But I went to 6th ave and heard the KEF I like them both that's why I can't make up my mind and the KEF they were going to give it to me at $1300 for the set.

Since you already have the pro center 1000 then you definitely have to match it with the pro cinema 1000s. The front 3 should be matched. OTOH, I do recall now that there were 5.1 Kef set up at circuit city and they were pretty good. Nothing like that British sound. The Brits do know their HI-FI. You can always sell the center and go Brit.

Yeah, if you already have the def tech procenter 1000 I would stay with the procinema 800 setup. They are good speakers, and for $64 a piece it should be a no brainer.

Yeah that was what I was thinking but I heard the KEF's and liked and was seeing if anyone else had input to those but yeah to save a lot of money I should get the DEF TECH's. I think I'm going to have to go in to best buy and listen to them with the Denon 3808.
