Default Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi will they ever be released on blu?

I love the music of Philip Glass and I've never seen the Qatsi trilogy.
I don't know if it can compare to Baraka but I have the impression that
they are similar.
I've read a long time ago that they were remastering them (i think) for
a release for blu-ray.
Will they ever release it?
Also Philip Glass is supposedly gonna conduct this live at the Hollywood bowl this summer with Koyaanisqatsi playing, maybe we'll see it soon?

I hope they get released. I saw them on DVD at a friend's place, but I don't want to buy them. I have a feeling I may have to as I think it'll be long time before they get the Blu-ray treatment.

Technically, they're in three different places (KQ was last seen at MGM, PQ is Golan/Globus, now at Paramount, and Miramax thought NQ would do better)--

But that was a while ago, so no current word on the rights/ownership (and whether they reverted to Godfrey Reggio after the lawsuits)...Meanwhile, Criterion has been spouting some odd and inscrutable meta-rumors about "restored" versions for theatrical--
And now you know as much as I do.

Have to second that one.
I've been after these films on blu for ages and although some other tripe (imho) gets released - these films still stay stubbornly off the scene. Anyone have any updated info on these?
Regards

I love you!

Oh the joy! At last I'll have to concentrate on James Bond and reclaim part of my missing sanity.

Thank you!!
Cheers
Art.

Default Blu Ray Release of Koyaanisqatsi

A 2 - disc Blu Ray of Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi has just been released here in Germany. Both movies have had a full 1080p remaster and look stunning. I'm not certain why Germany was chosen to launch these titles onto the Blu Ray market, but I'm just happy to finally get my hands on the disc! I'm sure that release in other territories will follow soon.

Could you point to a review, or perhaps some screenshots? I know that Koyaanisqatsi will never look pristine, since it was a fairly low budget affair under difficult circumstances, and the use of archival footage, but if it still looks the way it should, then I'm very happy. Powaqqatsi should look great too.

Default Koyaanisqatsi Blue Ray Release

There doesn't seem to be any reviews or screenshots available anywhere, and strangely the disc is not yet showing on Amazon.de. This is very unusual indeed! I purchased it from a local retailer but none of the other retailers in town (Hannover) stock it. I'm beginning to think that the shop which is selling the discs has mistakenly put them up for sale before the official release date. Sorry I can't be of any more help, but if I find out any more info I'll post it here.

Release Date is today, Label is Koch Media. I can't find anything on their Hompage, only this Announcement:
http://www.bluray-disc.de/blu-ray-fi...t-blu-ray-disc

Is this a new way to make Money with Catalog Titles only for Insider?

Some screenshots from the german Koyaanisqatsi Blu Ray:

The Koyaanisqatsi/Powaqqatsi-Discset is published by Koch Media Film, but the title is not even available on their website. Very strange.

Yes, I did buy it in Saturn Hannover for €17.99. I see that it is now showing on Amazon.de but there is only 1 copy for sale from private seller and he is charging €34.99! My advice is to shop around.

Got it today and I also only found it on amazon marketplace for about 40 €. The PQ of KOYAANISQATSI is not stunning imo but definitely an improvement over the MGM DVD - in some scenes it really looks good (mostly the urban stuff) whereas I was disappointed with the PQ of the nature shots. No DNR is another plus. AQ is pretty good.
POWAQQATSI looks VERY good imo. So I would recommend this set which according to bluray-disc.de seems to be region free. I couldn't check it though and the cover states region B only.

Try to contact a seller on the amazon.de marketplace. Maybe they ship to the US.
