Default Onyko 9100thx (HT-R960) Issue, need help !

The receiver has several issues,

First when i connect to xbox 360 using hdmi cable, it keep flashing the screen.

In PS3 it won't show dts master or dolby truehd in the audio setting. When i play blu-ray that has 5.1 pcm only show stero pcm. The receiver won't show dts master or dolby truehd logo when playing hd codec on blu-ray.

The receiver will never show TrueHD or DTSHD-MA while using a PS3. The PS3 can't send out the lossless signals through bitstreaming. It has to decode internally and send out as Multi-channel PCM. you're screen will look like this

thanks for the info, but somehow it won't show pcm 7.1 for ps3 game that support it. Instead only pcm 5.1 like sfiv.

When i play xbox 360 hd dvd, it won't show true hd, even when the dish is display truehd.. 360 isn't internal decorde like ps3 then explain why this happend?

Make sure to mark your settings
Settings > BD/DVD Settings > BD/DVD Audio Output Format (HDMI) > Linear PCM
Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings > HDMI > Automatic

If your having trouble with your audio, click Manual under the Sound settings as in the above. This will take you to the output format screen where you can check and uncheck sound formats based on the capabilities of your receiver. You can find this information in the receiver's manual.

unfortunately I don't really know anything about the Xbox or the HD DVD attachment. I'm not a huge gamer. Can you point me in a direction where I could find an answer on the players capabilities? If it cannot bitstream lossless (which I'm guessing is the case as that was a later development) then it should appear on the receiver just as it does with the PS3. If it cannot internally decode and cannot bitstream than you will only get the lossy track.

the Xbox360 will not bitstream lossless audio. (or even Uncompressed PCM)

You're basically stuck with standard 5.1 dolby digital and 5.1 Dts.

Many HD DVD's didn't have lossless sound on the disc to begin with. There simple wasn't wasn't enough room. To fit the movie in HD and and HD sound.

HD DVD's still work. Some people are ok with the way they look. If you're one of them, then you have a bunch of movies you can watch. Not everyone out there can take advantage of HD sound so they wouldn't know the difference if it was on the disk or not.

format war.
