Finally a release here! Besides it's anniversary, timing seems about right for it

...Hopefully it's better than the German release.

Awesome! The DVD had some artifacting and the German Blu-ray wasn't exactly up to snuff, so hopefully this will be the release that gets everything right!

Interesting. I was hoping that Criterion would get this one at some point, but I'm good for this edition if it has a decent transfer.

I know this is widely considered one of Truffaut's lesser movies, but I will probably get it. I saw most of it on AMC when I was a young'un and remember wanting to see the rest. That artwork looks like it's going to be a Walmart 5 dollar bin title, so no harm if it isn't very good!

It's a good movie in my opinion. The look feels a bit dated, which is kind of ironic being a futuristic dystopian film and all. It definitely has a French vibe, as you'd expect from Truffaut. It makes a good companion piece to 1984 (1984).

Nothing beats the Shout's '25th' anniversary of The Bear (1988) released in 2015.

I remember the look of it pretty clearly for a movie that I only saw part of once, more than 15 years ago. So, it must have made an impression of some sort. I also remember the book, which I read when I was closer to 10 years old. I'm sure it's not bad. I can deal with dated and/or minimalist "future" movies. I mean, I like Sleeper and Alphaville and Je T'aime Je T'aime and The 10th Victim!

Finally! This is one of my favorite Truffaut films, with Bradbury & Herrmann. Definitely looking forward to it!!

I wonder if/when Amazon will carry it. Will the Walmart exclusivity last for 3 to 4 months?

As a non-Walmart customer, I hope that it shows up later at other merchants. I'm somewhat surprised that it isn't going to Best Buy.

Walmart is making a push for their online store to be a bigger deal. Free 2 day shipping and media exclusives is one way to do that. I doubt many box stores even carry this.
