**Official ThriceBB Home Theater Setup** - Blu-ray Forum

hello everyone!

my tax return just cleared yesterday and that can only mean one thing! i am starting from scratch and starting to build my home theater! i am going to use this thread to write down my progress and hopefully get some help along the way from all of you experts out there! right now, this is the setup i will be purchasing:

Onkyo 606
Polk CS2
Polk Monitor 50's - front
Polk Monitor 30's - rear
eD A2-300 sub

I have a 42" Insignia LCD 1080p right now with a PS3 and that is the extent of my setup. i really want to get a Panny 50" plasma, but im going to decide on that later. (lets be honest, ill probably give into my temptation down the road) what do you guys think of the direction im heading? thanks in advance for any help along the way!

so i guess the first thing ill look for is the onkyo. ill probably do most of this online. anyone know where i can find one for a good price? what should my ceiling price be? amazon has them for $399..

is anyone familiar with ordering electronics through amazon? do they offer any kinds of warranties?

Nothing above and beyond the manufacturers warranty.

u can find the 606 for cheaper then 399, i think amazon had it for 360 once.

try 6ave.com

for speakers try new egg or circuit city

Not a bad setup for just starting out. I have pretty much similar stuff as your getting. You'll enjoy it and good luck shopping

ok.. i started this thread a little early, but im starting to get there now. i ordered my A2-300 about a week and a half ago, so still have a few weeks before that gets here. im hoping to have everything else purchased by the time the sub comes home. that way it will be the finishing touch. my receiver should be here in about 2-3 days. im gonna take pictures when that arrives and post them. i decided to go with the Marantz 6003. im very pumped about it and cant wait for it to arrive.

Congrats on the purchases. I hear that A2-300 is a beast and well worth the wait! Nice choice on the Marantz too. In my opinion, you're off to a great start....can't wait to see some pics when it's all together!

not quite yet. due to low income i had to move back home for now. hopefully when i buy my own house, ill have a setup with a projector and all of that. right now, this will just be for my bedroom, but i have a huge bedroom.

i added another couple galleries. i added one to kind of show the progress that i have had... a couple before and after shots. my setup is nowhere near complete, so dont criticize the wire management or anything just yet, but its updated. also added a gallery for the A2-300 i just received today. its empty so far, but i will be adding pics as i try to get it going tonight.
