Default Basic Instinct anyone?

Is anyone here planning on getting the guilty pleasure movie Basic Instinct tomorrow? It got a pretty good score for PQ on High Def Digest. At it's core, this movie is really pretty stupid, but for some reason I'm drawn to it whenever it's on TV.

It actually is really well done, and the blueprint for modern psychothrillers where the "bad guy" (bad gal?) is female.

But I do not need it. What happened to Ronin.

Haven't seen Ronin;

Would like to see Silence of the Lambs and Seven make it to BR format for psychothrillers

Default Already got it

I picked up Basic Instinct last week. Wal-Mart again made the mistake of setting it out early (have picked up 4 BD titles early from 2 different Wal-Marts). I also picked up The Covenant a week early from Best Buy way back when.

Basic Instinct is flawed as far as the third act and revelation are concerned. You don't get to see the change of motive in her. The acting in the red herring scene is also too specific for the moment (meant to illicit a specific response) and not for repeat viewings.

HOWEVER, the rest of the movie is great. Great cinematography, make-up, and must not forget the signature score. The pinnacle of careers of certain people were all there to be seen.

Just got through watching it on my PS3 via NetFlix and I thought it turned out GREAT! Very crisp and clear. Much more so than the DVD. I've always thought it was a pretty decent movie too. It's a little dated by today's standards, but who's watching it for movie's sake anyway. You should be watching Basic Instinct for Stone's amazing body and lack of clothing. Those were the good old days of nakedness. The BD really brings back a classic.

And yes, the disc extras suck. I enjoyed the commentary some what, but I was really looking forward to the feature on cleaning up the movie for TV. What I THOUGHT I was going to see what how they editted the sex down for TV, but instead I was treated to 30 minutes or so of really removal and bad dubbing of cuss words. Things like "do you want to buck her" were badly dubbed " do you want to have sex with her". Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

Default Basic Instinct AVC encode Great Looking Disc

Link :

http://www.dvdfile.com/index.php?opt...=6083&Itemid=3

After Sony,Disney,FOX for Xmen,Paramount and Dreamworks lately now Lionsgate Basic Instinct is AVC encode indeed does look great

Video:

The film’s theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1 is presented in a great looking Lionsgate high definition transfer compressed with the AVC video CODEC. The level of detail is exemplary

Another Quote:

The director filmed Stone sans underwear from a low angle as she uncrossed one leg and crossed the other. The revealing shot was unprecedented in American cinema

I wish only Warner Start doing remarquable AVC encode,But i guess not to let

HD-DVD on par with BD.If Warner use AVC Higher Bit Rate Like others,Our BD warner experience will Surpass easily the PQ of HD-DVD

I saw this in the theater with my dad when I was younger. When it got to that scene with her uncrossing her legs, my dad made us leave and we walked out. He's so Christian. You should have seen the look on his face. It was hilarious.
