Blade Runner 4K UHD (1982)

I have to admit that quite a few modern films on 4K have blown me away, whereas no older film (so far) has. And by older I mean even just a few years old. Most reviewers have raved about this film on 4K - but I’m skeptical.

Close Encounters, War of The Workds, 2001, all failed to impress me. Even Lawrence wasn’t that spectacular.

The silly (but actually kind of fun) Ready Player One, actually did blow me away. Tenet, I thought, looked spectacular. I guess I like a crisp, clean image, without film grain.

Has anyone here ever ordered a poster from Pop Culture Graphics on Amazon?

I’m thinking about ordering this Blade Runner poster:

It’s 27 x 40 inches, but may not be the best quality image.

It’s either that or the 24 x 36 version by another company that has the glossy finish. Smaller poster, but probably better image quality.

...I can’t decide which one to get.

Dream 4K release for me: New 4k scans for the earlier versions and NO audio remixing or dynamic range reduction.
4K Disc 1: 1982 theatrical and international versions. Color timed to match best original print elements. Audio in 2.0 and 5.1 mastered from Dolby stereo and 70mm Dolby presentations.
4K Disc 2: 1992 Director's cut with branched version including international cut violent shots intended to be included. Mastered from the DC materials. Audio mastered from the DC mix master.
4K Disc 3: 2007 Final Cut transfer spiffed up with original 2007 5.1 mix restored.
Disc 4: The workprint being in 4K might be a bit much but at this point for a big uber fan box why not. Dangerous Days in full HD. Also include any extra materials that couldn't fit on the original release, the deleted scenes in HD with option to view separately, and:
-the extra commentaries Paul M. Sammon was to have done back in 2007 but were dropped from the project.
-K.W. Jeter on Dick's novel and his novel sequels.
-a piece on the PC game
-Harrison Ford trying to understand why people are still obsessed with BR
-"I'm not a goddamn robot!"-Harrison Ford on the various endings of Blade Runner
Any new relevant extras people would like to add-I'm sure most of the usual talking heads we love to watch would jump in and wax poetic.
Not to mention perhaps see what Charles de Lauzirika could cook up for BR on this new format....

as much as I'd like the 2007 mix back on any new release for the Final Cut (just for the opening boom if nothing else)
I'd like a bastardisation of the 2 mixes with the obvious issues of the new mix changed back, but i loved the rain and thunder effects on the new atmos mix - i want a best of both mix!

I just had my Pop Culture Graphics poster delivered yesterday and it’s the worst piece of crap poster I’ve ever seen in my life.

It’s not even made out of paper.

I don’t know what’s it’s made out of, but it damn sure ain’t paper.

The print looks horrendous.

I’m not even going to bother framing it.

Asked for and was given a refund.

Worst $14 I’ve ever spent.

...and that’s including Albanian porn.
