Blu Rays are not, I repeat NOT scratch proof. They are scratch resistant. Big difference.

Yeah, they weren´t gone completely of course... but on the (bad) photo taken at the comic con display you can see that the brightness level has been much improved. Having said that, the 2004 DVDs aren´t as bad as people believe them to be ...

If you pre-order through Foxconnect.com ($89.99) you get a free litho limited to the first 1000 customers (another blurb (and the photo below) says 1138 customers).

To each his own.

Continue to enjoy with those 480i lossy audio DVDs.

Now Indiana Jones is another matter - the draw of Indy I will be unable to resist.
How have you been burned? I'm considering pre-ordering with Amazon and would like to know. PM if you want.

The only thing I´m a little concerned about is that there are no indications that further digital enhancements have been made at this point. I mean, I really hope they redid Jabba´s musical number or corrected Obi-Wan braid, updated textures, corrected sabers etc ...
Well if you look at the bottom image of the death star it look like they remade the cgi and "erase" the old green wireframe style.

And slick shiny cardboard will NOT scratch a disc. I have taken a screwdriver to a demo disc i got with my player and couldnt scratch the thing until i applied significant pressure. If any scratches are occuring its dust and grit that accumulates on the cardboard that scratchs the disc when it is slid back across the cardboard. If the discs are scratched when you receive them that is something that happened in the packaging process at the manufacturers and I would say not because of the cardboard. I have watched my Alien Anthology liberally and have yet to get one scratch on my discs. If someone has gotten scratches it is due to mishandling the discs. People should look at themselves and figure out what they are doing wrong instead of blaming the packaging. Be careful with them and they wont get scratched. If they do get scratched make sure there is no grit inside the sleeves were the discs are held as that can ware on a disc after a while.

I watched it conservatively. I though Weyland-Yutani behaved responsibly and their corporate officers made the only decisions they could given the situations.

I love it so much, I created an account to ask a question

Could someone clear up the US vs. UK packaging for me? US packaging is like the Alien Anthology set (which I own and like)? UK packaging has 6 individual slim blu cases for the movies?

The US version is a cooler presentation, but less safe. I wish they would make a packaging style like the Alien Anthology set, except just have the discs snap into trays like normal and have the gorgeous artwork printed behind them, so you can see it once the disc is removed. That way we get the artwork AND the safety. Is that so hard?
