Default New STAR WARS box set (on DVD only)

This is ridiculous Georgie Baby! Where's the blu version? The only way I'm touching this is if the original (untouched) trilogy is remastered and not as a bonus, grainy supplement like last time.

Why'd you post this in the Blu-Ray forum if it's a release on DVD?

Sorry to get your hopes up. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the original (untouched) trilogy is remastered.

Works for those who didn't buy the individuals. Works for Lucas who hasn't had a fresh idea for film that will sell since Indiana I.

To think that people still buy DVD's in this day and age is beyond me. Even worse I bet some people will get this DVD edition even though they already have the previous DVD edition of Starwars.
Hmm do you think if Lucas released a new edition of the VHS, that there would be people to buy it ?

Damn it Lucas. Always with the same crap. Don't look now. We're gonna get a re-release of this, but this time we get an autograph from Jar Jar himself!

Calm down, kids. This isn't hurting anyone. There's still a dvd market out there, and there's millions of people who liked the prequel trilogy who will be happy to get it as a set. This doesn't play even the tiniest factor in delaying a blu-ray release, it's just a holiday packaging to keep it all relevant so that when he does release a blu-ray set it won't fall with such a thud. Jeez, if you all hate him so much, why do you want his movies on blu-ray?

He's just milking the cash cow. We already have enough box sets of this already. Can't he just give it a rest?

Eventually this is gonna happen on BD too, we will see tons of gift sets. I would love a complete master ultimate gift set of all six movies on BD, prob a ways off. I am dying to see the prequel trilogy on BD.

It's gonna be that way for a long time until Blu-ray prices come down a bit further and the technology isn't so "hour to hour"...remember we're the niche market.

Only time I'm buying Star Wars movies (again), will be when they are released on blu-ray. Not getting them on DVD anymore.

To tell the truth, I saw this coming a month ago. I needed to get a replacement for my scratched-up copy of Ep.I, and couldn't find a single copy of any Star Wars movie anywhere in town (big city: Phoenix). I knew right then that a new re-release was imminent.

He's doing this because people still buy these movies... fifty years from now, they will still be re-releasing Star Wars, because it will still be something people will pay for. I'm scratching my head here trying to figure out why it upsets people so much that they keep releasing editions of Star Wars... I mean, you guys do know that many, many movies get periodic re-releases, right? (Pretty much anything that people will buy gets periodic re-releases, thank goodness.) What, are there really a bunch of people out there that hate Star Wars so much that they are counting the days until they never have to see it on a store shelf again? If so, you're gonna be waiting a while.

If you already have it, nobody expects you to buy it. Chill.

boy he really is milking those movies for all they are worth. I must say, I have lost all my respect for Lucas, after having seen The Clone Wars. But I still want the BD's of the films.

If I could make money buy putting a pretty new box on the same old product and selling it over and over again, I would do the same thing.

You why he can't give it a rest..It's because he will sell millions of copies, he would be a fool to give it a rest.

Every single one of you would do the same damn thing if you were in his postion. He's not hurting you, why do you care?

Yes, we must all draft a petition to forbid Lucas from continuing to earn money off of the greatest accomplishment of his life . There must be no more Star Wars, Star Wars must disappear!

Popular movies? No, I don't buy those on DVD

Shows like MST3K? That's my only option, DVD will be around for a while, especially since players are backwards compatible.

by the time we get the OT and PT on Blu-ray we will have a new format out that we will be begging for SW on that format and be saying, "Ah! Who would still be buying blu-rays in this day and age".
