United Kingdom Star Trek 1 - 10 'Enterprise' Box Set!

Just found this on play.com for £139.99 due out 16th Nov. Packaging not finalised yet but going by the mock up may look pretty good overall. Contains all Trek movies from The Motion Picture to Nemesis.

Amazon and play call it the Star Trek: Films I - X - Remastered Special Edition Box Set. I am wondering does it only include the theatrical cuts or will this remastered box set have the directors cuts included since the DVD special editions had the directors cuts.

I have the feeling they are using the remastered as a selling point and I highly doubt they have the directors cut included.

You would have thought this would include the new trek film for completeness.

The French single editions of the first ten movies (set to be released on October 21st) will most probably be the Director's Cuts.

They will not be the director's cuts

there will be no director's cuts until the next JJTrek, and TMP still does not exist in HD

All of these are the exact same discs already out/will be out in a few weeks

I was simply basing my assumption on this. France might be the only country to get it, and it might only concern the first movie.

It's a typo for sure. I know for a fact they simply don't have the source material to do it, and believe me, me or BIll would have heard about it

There's also no way only France would get it

Fair enough. I'm far from being enough of a Trekkie to be able to know any of that.

Does anyone know if the "Next Generation" BDs have Italian audio like the others?
Thank you.

Until they put the Directors Cuts/Extended Cuts on Blu Ray I am sticking with my DVD's. Not interested otherwise.

Quick question: Will this box set play in Region A? Are these the same discs as in the slim blu ray cases? Been thinking about picking this one up, but not sure if it will work on my USA PS3.

The blu-ray.com page for the box set (http://uk.blu-ray.com/movies/Star-Tr.../#RegionCoding) states it will work in a US player. Moreover, it's a Paramount release, so region free is agiven. The discs are exactly the same as in the US boxsets.

The cases aren't though. Each film is in a standard UK amaray case (the same width as a normal DVD case) - check out customer images on amazon.co.uk if you want to see more closely.

What version of The Motion Picture is available on Blu? The original theatrical version? Before the new CGI inserts etc for the DVD Director's Edition. Is it the same for all the other films (or the ones which were given director's cuts or special editions)?

All are the original theatrical cuts. I'm not really familiar with the other versions and I always got the impression the first was the one that most benefitted, so it doesn't bother me personally.

The Motion Picture had the new CGI for the Theatrical Edition rendered in Standard Definition so they'd need to be done AGAIN in order to get a BD release. The others could potentially happen, I'm sure they will one day... we all know how much Paramount like to pimp the franchise!

Amazing that something that was done about 10 years ago isn't up to scratch (due to been rendered in SD) while the wonky '79 film SFX are!

It's even more crazy that TV shows from the 60s can be remastered and stuck on BD as they were edited on film yet shows from the 90s that were also shot on film can't be released due to the editing being done on video tape.

How much will this short sighteness cost in the long run I wonder.

This is exactly why I can't stand Paramount! They really do spare every expense. From the looks of it, they are taking the existing discs and putting them in a shiny new package. I find myself in agreement with a lot of others - until all of the films are remastered in their director's cuts, there is no reason to buy it again.
