I've been going back and forth on where to start. Apart of me wants to same a scene from each film first but that always ends with me watching the rest of the flick.

I really, really want to start with the deleted and extended scenes, especially the Prequels. I'm curious to see what new stuff is going to be on there that wasn't on the Prequel DVDs.

The Lucasfilm Archives sound like the jewel of the set so I'm tempted to start right there because it sounds like that part is the most comprehensive aspect of the boxset.

The archival commentaries sound interesting as well.

I just honestly don't know which disc I'm going to pop in first. I'm hoping once the reviews start coming, they'll give me a good indication of where to begin.
OT special features for me, then straight to the deleted scenes, particularly the wampa and sandstorm scenes. Only 28 days (or 25 if the pre-orders get delivered early as usual)

The first thing i'll be doing is putting in the RoTJ disc and skipping right to the end. Checking whether Hayden's creepy head is glued on to the film will, ultimately, save me from watching the whole trilogy and getting disappointed! :P

I'm quite curious about the behind the scenes/footage of Episode III considering we didn't get a traditional making-of documentary on the Episode III DVD. It was basically an acknowledgement documentary for the entire cast and crew of the Prequels. It was interesting but it wasn't as great as the documentaries for Episodes I and II.

Still, I think I'll head straight for the deleted scenes for the films. I'm very, very curious to see if a specific Padme and Obi-Wan deleted scene from Episode III made on this set. There are others as well, like the scene between Padme and C-3PO in Episode II at the homestead. I'm not even sure it was shot but, in the script, it was an interesting character moment for Padme.

I do wonder how choppy the archival commentaries might be, considering their from interviews.

I will watch the movies first, starting with A New Hope. Mostly I am very curious to see the original in Blu-ray. I will then make my way to the prequels. Once that is done I will start tackling the bonus features. I am off on Friday the 16th and plan on spending the entire weekend lost in Star Wars

If I do decide to tackle the films first, I'll go in numerical order.

I do wonder what will be the subtle visual effects enhancements for the Prequels? Besides the obvious replacement of the puppet Yoda, I do wonder how much Lucas went back and touched up some the visual effects shots in the Prequels that didn't quite work the first time around.

I honestly think he's not going to do much at all to the Originals, in terms of enhancements. He might fix a matte line or two but I don't see him doing anything with the Originals.

I'll be watching the films in numerical order I-VI, and then I'll dive into the special features.

My difference is I will watch I-III with the commentaries then IV-VI as films. If the PT commentaries pique my interest, I may revisit I and II, but I kind'a doubt it. I'm sure I'll watch III, but probably after the archives and most commentaries are exhausted. I figure this monumental task may even be complete before the next reissue.

The packaging makes no difference to me anymore. I'm a real fan, I support Lucas. Those who do not like the changes and just want the UOT, don't buy the set. Those who like star wars (the storytelling) buy it and enjoy it. From what I've seen the set looks far superior to anything that's out there. This set is the reason I came here in the first place and the reason i'm leaving.

May the force be with you.

I'm sorry to hear that. Take care. It's unfortunate that things can get so out of hand, but who are we to stand in the way of free speech. Enjoy the release.

I am going to watch the deleted scenes from the OT first. If I read that there are some new ones for the PT, I'll watch those. Then I will watch the OT. Then I am unsure if I will watch some OT features, or just go to the PT. The archival commentaries for the OT will probably be among the first few things I watch, along with the Empire and Jedi docs.

The set might end up rivaling the Alien Anthology. That set took me a while to get through, but I enjoyed pouring over all the goodies.

I think i'll be watching the deleted scenes for the OT first, then watching 4, 5 & 6, followed by the prequel deleted scenes, the special features disc (disc 9) then the PT.

It will be interesting to see which cut of TPM will be on the blu-rays, the theatrical or the DVD version because of the new transfer/ restoration.

I'll probably be watching all the extras on the OT first...then the movies...then the rest.

The run time listed on the back of the box is identical to the DVD version. The added scenes were also included in HD television broadcasts.

In Canada where I live the complete set is going for $99. In the US I believe it's $89 but I may be wrong.
