Unfortunately my sister decided to leave my Star Wars DVDs out of their cases (she watched them all in one day, had never seen them before) and spilled wine all over them and now they don't play .
Try soap (and lukewarm) water. It's probably just dried residue from the wine. You could also try the HD DVD trick , but regular soap and water is probably safer for a first try.

The NYT is reporting that Toshiba is going to cut the MSRP of HD DVD's by 2 bucks. Someone suggested that it may be misattributed to Toshiba since they own zero content. MSRPs are set by content owners. If this is being done by the studios in a coordinated effort to undercut the competition, does this not constitute a cartel or monopolistic maneuver and is the BDA’s legal team looking into the driving force behind this effort?

I guess Toshiba is going to start subsidizing software along with the hardware. Thats the only way they are going to make it work.

But now I believe, and it feels good!

Penton,

First, thank you for all your hard work and keeping us informed.

Two things and I doubt you can answer both of these..

1.) With this Warner rumor spreading like a wild uncontrollable fire around the worlds news outlets, has there been any hint as to how "Unified" some are?

2.) Was the wording for the 4 'rock hard stones' surrounding the Fifth Element just jet lag, or is this really a statement that they these magical stones are not even considering moving out of place? After all are they just stones, or rock hard stones... Some are claiming the Zorg corporation has stolen one of the stones..

I hope it doesn't end or I hope Amazon renews it. The 10% off deal was a very nice benefit. And having the 10% off included with the BOGO was just pure joy to my pocket book...especially with Prime.

At this point, you want WB not to have any excuse not to go Blu exclusive -because if we all don’t take advantage of this holiday window, ya all may just as well put your collective feet up on your desk and wait until holiday season 2008-2009 when the next big perfect storm presents itself to run up the score …..
1. Many consumers buying HD TV sets.
2. Many consumers buying Blu-ray players for those TV sets.
3. Many consumers buying Blu-ray discs.

P.S.
The Blade Runner stuff is a collector’s dream for home theatre.
Penton,

What is your advice to UK Blu-ray owners? It seams that the format war will be decided in the US primarily. Does buying Warner in the UK make much of a difference? and are there any particular outlets that would be benificial for affecting sales numbers, OR should we be looking to import region free titles from the US (again if so, which outlet would best help Blu? Amazon?)

Thanks in advance,

Zotar
