Of course, if Warner really cares about the future of home video then they will go Blu exclusive and end this nonesense once and for all.
Well, in that case, I think we will forgive you for your previous anti-Blu-ray sentiments. After all, anyone who bought 8 WB titles this week alone, and is a Sergio Leone fan, can't be all that bad!

That being said, I do expect all the major CE players will all have 2.0 players by 2Q/3Q 2008. A lot will be shown at CES. The FSP (or 1.1) player will be the "entry level". The 2.0 will be the "upscale model". BD companies will offer both in their product line.

That's where Sony or DBA is making a mistake. They should require it. J6p isn't going to know about it. He'll just get pissed after he buys it and realizes that his player doesn't do everything that his neighbor's 14 year old kid's player does.

Very good Alan.
Now everyone, in regards to Penton cryptic, I gave you all a heads-up (the best I could) as to what was in the wind before Michael Burns opened up his yammer on BusinessWeek with this link….
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ent#post384880

Yet, nobody made note of where the Tahitian Vahines were dancing. Didn’t it seem odd that out of all the Tahitian dancers on YouTube, I picked the one with that venue?

And nobody figured out that the hero(who in real life is closely associated with Planet Hollywood) puts The Fifth Element in the center surrounded by four rock hard stones to save the day and blast that red mass into smithereens before it can scorch the earth with its intended mission in the film.

Hello, my movie friends?
So, now that you’ve had time to ponder, who are the stones at the four corners of the square (think studios) and who is The Fifth Element that is the missing piece to end this war once and for all by blasting that red mass out of the sky?

Buy WB Blu-rays this holiday season!

Not all DVD players when they first started had some of the features that all DVD players have now.

One of the reasons why this happened is that after DIVX died, companies had to compete against themselves for the DVD player consumers' money... so when one company had this feature, this company couldn't be outdone and added it to their player's specs.

I expect most all, if not all new BD players released around Christmas 2008 (if not earlier) to be Profile 2.0.

Ok so...

4 studios = Lionsgate, Sony, Disney and Fox.

WB = The Fifth Element

But has the fifth element already chosen to protect earth(BD) or are they awaiting to see what they think will benefit them better(stay neutral)?

I'm doing my part and buying the whole Potter collection. Let's come up with a growing list. Let's make it forum wide. In fact, let's add the discs we're going to buy (or at least the number of titles) to our signatures this month to help rally the troops. Every bit counts. And it counts big.
I've done my part for Warner. My collection is modest, just 23 BDs, but 18 are split between 2 studios: Warner has 8 (after 5 Potters arrived today), Disney owns ten. Blade Runner's arrival next week will add one more for WB.

The Prestige: it's Disney's BD but a WB co-produced film. If I get it, do I get partial credit?

I think I'll start a 12 step program for all my fellow HD DVD backers

The steps are as follows:
1. Get angry at Warner
2. Spend two days thinking, "what if it had gone the other way?"
3. Seek group support throught the 6 people left on the HD DVD forum
4. Tear down the old A2, wrap it up, and act like it's a Christmas present for
the kids.
5. Go out and buy your first $250 BR player (and at least feel good that
you didn't get one when they were $500). Hey, you're going need
somehting to make you feel better.
6. Call your friends and tell them, "Thanks for recommending HD DVD, you
suck".
7. Go buy all the movies you wanted that were not available on HD DVD.
8. Go out and buy a receiver that can take advantage of lossless sound.
9. Cancel all memberships to the HD DVD forum.
10. Take my friend out to lunch... I bet him lunch that Warner wouldn't go BR
only.
11. Start an anger management course for those that just couldn't get over
it.
12. Track down a BR fan (any one will do) and buy him a beer. Hey now we
can all be friends again.

Follow all of these steps, and all of us HD DVD fans will be freed of the HD DVD vs Blu Ray stress and will be able to get back to more productive things like arguing PS3 vs. Xbox 360....

Yes. Thank you for telling me how to think. Even if I was joking. that is the great beauty of living in a free society where everyone is free to think as Rob Tomlin thinks. Having said that...

Seriously, I will now be buying up as much as possible right NOW, especially WB titles!
