I've said it before, I'll say it again, there will be people out there who will be saying the reason why Warner went Blu-ray exclusive was because Sony paid them off. When bringing up the Paramount/DreamWorks payoff, they will deny it ever happened and that P/DW went HD DVD exclusive due to HD DVD's superior interactive features and cheaper player.

They will then say that Warner Bros. will be back when the Chinese HD DVD players start mass adoption.

Some will say that regular DVDs look better on their HD DVD player upconverted than Blu-ray movies, so they will simply buy WB films on DVD, and will refuse to buy anything associated with Sony.

Some will go purple, but then take every chance they can get to state how much better HD DVD is.

Of course, when Universal starts releasing on Blu-ray... then it might get REALLY dirty!!

Good points: They do look sharp, definitely an improvement over DVD. First movie has sweet PCM track if you've the stereo for it.

Bad Points: No extras, only theatrical cuts included, T2 has Dolby Digital but not lossless. Also, as early releases, they are single layer MPEG2, so they won't look as nice as newer blu-rays.

I think that most of them know already that they are in serious trouble. When you go to sites friendly to red you will see that there is no enthusiasm like there is here.
All you see is bitterness and I have actually noticed a drop in the amount of post in those forums.

So everybody,

What Warner Blu-ray Disc titles are you going to buy between now and December 31?

I'm doing my part and buying the whole Potter collection. Let's come up with a growing list. Let's make it forum wide. In fact, let's add the discs we're going to buy (or at least the number of titles) to our signatures this month to help rally the troops. Every bit counts. And it counts big.

Time will change all. The Fudsters will ramp up and infultrait this sight out of their fears and frustrations. That will fade though as time goes by. Warner, then Universal will follow. There will be nothing left to hold onto. Nothing left to bash. No more war. Fear becomes acceptance. Replacing the fudsters will be new HD BD adaptors. Excited as Hell and full of life and exuberance as we have been in the past and are now. We will talk of the great battles, squirmishes and glory days during the War. But none of that will really matter except that in we will remember that the war was won by a truth that Lies nor a most dominant power could not destroy. The next wave of BD HD adaptors will be so inquisitive on so many levels on issues like PQ and SQ. This is going to be a very busy and fun place to be. I also wanted to thank all of you for all of the technical assistance given over time as well.

Thanks again, Mark

I'll be getting $100 worth of Warner's movies on Blu-ray. One of them being Troy for sure and Planet Earth/2 other movies.

Would it still count for Warner to buy it from Amazon or should I get it from Target/Best Buy.

Not sure what to make of it, but over at HDD, one of the neutral (but really an HD DVD fanboy) posted a thread entitled "BUY HD DVD the next three weeks". Here's the first post:
"I'm done with these forums, It's been fun! I might come back sometime soon, but I need a break from this stuff."

Then later:
"Haha okay, I'm not saying stop supporting Blu-ray at all. I just heard something that worried me for HD DVD, and things need to get better."

I believe this post is from someone who runs some sort of Blog and claims to have some inside contacts. Not sure how reliable he is.

Did what I could (even without a HDTV or Blu Ray player yet ).
Ordered HP:OotP on Amzon, and took advantage of the Amazon BOGO sale to order 300 and The 5th Element Remastered

I thought these would be a good start to a blu Ray collection when I finally dig in the savings (normally between Xmas and Spring hehe).

If you quoted the guy verbatim, he contradicts himself within the same sentence ... He says something about stopping to support Blu Ray, while being worried about HD DVD.
I can't make any sense of what he means really...

Agreed!!! This site has been extremely informative and it's members very friendly. I can't say I have ever had a bad experience on here.

Well with the exception of our mods yanking the hottest blu member contest, I never got the chance to win my movie. lol

If you get the Blu-ray's from Amazon they most certainly count, so order-away

I just saw the titles to be released for the first 4 months of 2008 on HD-DVD, there is no way Warner does not go exclusive to BD. HD-DVD has nothing, Universal has hidden behind a wall to duck and cover. The BD titles are nothing to jump for joy about, but a hell of a lot better then HD-DVD. If HD-DVD loses Warner in January, the war will be over by mid summer at the very latest.

I quoted verbatim. The part not in there is that he is "neutral", so some people are giving him cr@p about telling people to buy HD DVD with his thread title.

So, basically, he's saying: HD DVD'ers need to buy HD DVD between now and the end of the year. He's telling the Blu guys pestering him that he's not saying "don't buy Blu", but rather "just buy more HD DVD". He closes by saying he's heard some things that has him worried about HD DVD and that sales need to get better.

Warner will see the sale wherever you buy it.

Three weeks ago I bought a few movies. 300 being a Warner title. Last week I picked up Troy: DC, and today, I bought all the HP singles. Next week it's T3.

So basically he would like a stalemate by seeing both format sell equally? Wth is wrong with these kind of people?
I know the price argument, but prices go down anyway. We need all the movies available in one format darnit!
