Have to say, I prefer the paler greens...I loathe neon foilage.

Looks different in person, the HDR and color richness won't be fully captured and can't be reproduced on your monitor. So while it may look neonish here, may just be vibrant but rich in person.

We also need to consider he probably hasn't had a color calibration for hdr10, right?

The central intelligence screenshots look terrific. Not only bolder with better colors and vibrancy, but clearly sharper as well despite being a 2k upscale. Great example there.

These snap shots do not represent what the real thing looks like. These are not direct video frame grabs.

For the standard Blu-ray they should be, however the members caps of these are atrocious. I'm sure the UHD ones can look better too, compression wise.

Might be the wrong place, but any place to grab some nice 4K demo footage to play on my TV off a thumb drive? Stock footage if good, but mostly new movie trailers like Wonder Woman, Kong, Ghost in the Shell if it's like a raw 4K file before YouTube compresses the shit out of it. HDR content too would be nice to test.

Thanks in advance.

That's a good example of how HDR can add a lot of darkness without actually removing detail.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the HDR pics are not showing what it looks like on your tv because HDR cannot be captured in a screenshot.

If it’s anything like taking screenshots on PS4 HDR games, the blacks get crushed in the screenshot.

"Uploading" all of my lost screenshotcomparison.com comparisons here now ...

3:10 To Yuma:

UHD-BD (madVR/SDR/200 nits) left, BD (upscaled) right:

Disclaimer:
[Show spoiler]Please note that the UHD-BD shots have been converted from HDR to SDR using special techniques, which drastically compresses the dynamic range of the original image (the color bit depth has been compressed as well). The UHD-BD shots are therefore not an accurate representation of the original HDR image - dynamic range, colors and contrast should be taken with a big pinch of salt and the main focus should be on comparing details. Typically the image will appear too dark and may lack a certain "pop" when compared to the BD shots. The SDR conversion should still give you a good idea of the actual image of the UHD-BD though and one should be able to at least catch a glimpse of the increased dynamic range. The BD shots have been upscaled for comparison purposes, but other than that should be accurate.
