Any reason why you were disappointed? What exactly were you expecting?

I saw it in 3D today and loved it and I am a huge fan of the Alien movies (even though I think even people that have never seen the Alien movies could enjoy this). It had a great self-contained story but still had all kinds of familiar things going on for the Alien fan. The acting was incredible imo, especially Fassbender and Rapace. I have to say I don't have a single complaint. I hope Scott does several more.

Thats the way i feel. Nothing bothers me about the movie.
I wanna see it a 3rd time. I even have dreams about it.
The first movie in ages that i can't stop thinking about.

As much as I would love a Prometheus trilogy, unless parts 2 and 3 are filmed back to back, it makes me nervous at the prospect of having a part 2 that will never get resolved. I think Prometheus has earned enough and has enough positive feedback to warrant a sequel, but unless the next movie is phenomenal I question how sustainable the franchise is. Prometheus is a very polarizing film and I wonder how many people who hated the first film would be willing to give the sequel a fair chance.

They had both probably crapped their pants at that point. It's a little hard to make good time in any direction when that happens.

So the biggest question I had after watching this movie is:
[Show spoiler]What are David's motives for doing what he did? (you know to what I refer)

At first, I thought he was acting on his own after having developed a "god complex" while all alone on that ship; I thought he did it kinda because it was within his ability to do so. But I was talking to one of my friends earlier about this movie, and he thought David did what he did because he was following orders (per the "Try harder" conversation with Weyland)

That's interesting.

I would also like to think that the budget should not be a concern for the studio since it's pretty much geared up and never it really came to a complete stop.

So that should be a plus I would think.

Also regarding an EE and the elders. I really hope that they are not included into an extended cut, as I feel that the beginning of the film flows beautifully along with the score.

Now, if he wants to release two separate cuts through seamless branching, that would

I think it was at least initiated by the latter, but I also found David to be a dangerously curious creature without conscience, though still having the potential for hurt feelings (watch his subtle reactions to Holloway's continued insults throughout the film). He was genuinely curious to find out what would happen, and felt there was no problem with using
[Show spoiler]Holloway
as his guinea pig.

So someone mentioned something about a tree and how this info provided important details? What was this in reference to?

I would agree with that.

This is definitely the kinda film that demands multiple viewings. I might actually have to buy this one on blu-ray. -_-
(that would be my first br purchase in almost a year)

I viewed that as contributing to David's god complex; after all, Lawrence of Arabia is a movie about a man leading a rebellion against his superior officers.

Not unless David likes to have BDSM with girls. Which means him and Shaw will be having some fun on the way to the Engineers planet.

I would love to go see this one more time, but I doubt that will happen. If I had pre-ordered it on Amazon to get another free ticket...

You would think they could make their suits take care of that kind of a thing.

Well...if that's the case, I sure hope that he is not as rough with the ladies that Ash from ALIEN was. Just in case, Shaw might want to throw out any magazines that happen are laying around.
