I didn't notice any such thing here. The UHD remastered set's regular Blu-Ray is the not the same as the previous "ultra green" releases. Perhaps it looks "blown out" on a 4K set, but on my 2K projector, it's fine other than the cyan push that both it and the 4K version share. I still prefer the "fan" version with DTS Cinema audio the best (while I appreciate the Atmos sounds, the actual cinema soundtrack is vastly more dynamic even with a lossy soundtrack. It's like they turn dynamic range down on many home releases, nowhere near as bad as Disney in this case, but when you compare it to the true Cinema soundtrack from 1999 with dialog levels matched, it's dead obvious the cinema DTS track is way louder with the explosions, etc. I can, of course put the Atmos track on the fan release (that doesn't have cyan push or "too much green"), so in reality you have a LOT of options if you want them with a little bit of effort.

That feeling might change when you watch the 3rd movies... (I liked the second one OK until the third one "continued" where it left off and disappointed with very little time in the Matrix, too much time watching Zion fight machines and an ending...well...I'd rather forget about the ending.

The way you're saying it, it sounds like this isn't a good place to get the kind of wisdom I desired. I wasn't trying to cause a ruckus, and I'm willing to stop it before it does.

EDIT: Well, I deleted my original post. But I really wanted to have that conversation so I can be enlightened what I'm suppose to observe to better one's place in a progressive society. But it's not easy to find anywhere online to share it, because the internet can be a sickening place where all it needs is a dissenting opinion to cause a mess. I guess I only got lucky once for Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

It’s just that Blu-Ray forum isn’t known for tact and nuanced conversation especially on these topics and especially in bigger movies. Hedwig you got lucky the movie is still niche. The Matrix is popular and will feature arguments from anti Trans people to pro and those that just want to watch the threads burn.

I have always had questions with the specific topic your being up. I would say yes, these should be considered movies made by women. I am sure many will come in and disagree. I had the very same questions when the lead singer of Against Me came out as Trans. I’m sure there are other places this has been discussed but I’m not sure where.

Yes, you are opening up a can of worms. The easiest way to accept it is to assume they were always women, even if they didn't publicly identify as such until after they made The Matrix. You can't assign some sort of changeover date. Just relax and accept that gender fluidity doesn't conform to any sort of film history rules of an obsessive compulsive film nerd, but it certainly exemplifies the spirit and themes of the movie itself.

Thank you for your observations, and puddy77, could you please remove the quote of the post I since deleted. Don't want to be too late to close the floodgates.

I like the soundtrack for A Clockwork Orange composed by Walter Carlos and I also like the soundtrack for Tron composed by Wendy Carlos.
Art is a product of its time.

Yes, good advice is to be careful what you say around the KKKK folks.

Although not quite relevant, I never picked up that they're the same person until now. The more I know.

You would be wrong.

Woman: An adult human female
Female: Of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs

Biologically, these two are male. These are movies made by men.

The Matrix picture quality feels dated on 4K there are moments the colors felt flat and really heavy on the neon green colors. As for Dolby Atmos is amazing no issue with audio.

The Matrix: Reloaded both picture and audio quality are good no complains but as the movie it self it is hard to enjoy it for the length it is until a hour in to get some Matrix action.

The Matrix: Revolution next to view.

I guess it all depends for me the contrast on the Matrix needs a little uptick. Either way it is worth the purchase no regrets.
I too watched only in HDR10 and even with my TV's awesome tone mapping (same as found in Panasonic UB820 player I believe) I was hoping for just a little more. Perhaps it could be the stylistic nature of the photography or not being able to take advantage of the Dolby Vision layer?? I also found a little bit of funky chroma colour issues similar to those I found in Saving Private Ryan. I should say that this was very sharp and detailed and a huge upgrade over the BD, just that it left me wanting a little more.

Has anyone found the Dolby Vision to be noticeably superior to the HDR10 here?

The DV layer is just metadata on this one, although playing it in DV means it goes thru the DV engine anyway which helps with chroma noise.

I loved it. I'm not saying that the colour will be to everyone's taste and there are some definite grading errors in there, but in the main it blew me away all over again.

I think a lot of the hatred is coming from those that don't even have a 4K setup and are just looking at the supposed "screen caps" on a non-HDR monitor. If you have an even remotely good HDR setup, this is the definitive version of the film to watch at home.

10/10
I was all set to purchase this after the stellar reviews but happened to check out capsaholic and I see no major difference in detail. I see better detail in this scene on the 4K, but not by much. https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=11...38&i=4&l=0&a=3

Loved it too. Watched it twice already and this is a major upgrade IMO comparing to the old blu. Color grading alone makes it worth an upgrade.

The difference in color and dynamic range make it an absolutely worthy upgrade. Detail does not matter so much, 4K is more than resolution.

Think I need to revisit this in ideal viewing conditions (very dark room) as my Oled in THX Cinema mode or Professional 1 really shines in very low light. I think my initial viewing was on a sunny day albeit with the shades drawn.
