It's amazing how hard this is to grasp for studios

In related news, I can't believe this is going for $65 US version.
Film grain looks gorgeous when it's presented properly and it adds to the over all look and feel of a film.

You can remove the grain and make the image "pop" with the settings on your TV.

There's a reason why you get detail loss when you remove grain.

Because the detail is in the grain!

I had swore it off also, until I ran into a $9.99 copy at Meijers not long ago (already OOP, but not at today's $ levels), which proved irresistible. It is better than the dvd, just not as better as it should/could be. Still deciding if I should keep it or sell it (I watched the blu from the library, still have my UE dvd set, haven't opened the BD yet). Every time this thread pops back up I expect an announcement of someone putting it back out, but that continues to not happen. Looking like keep, at least for the near future.

To be fair they have mostly learned by now not to DNR shit. That was 90% an early BD problem. Even Universal has learned at this point.

Yes, it has gotten a lot better on the DNR front.

When Universal & Paramount start to stop DNR'ing stuff than you know that it's starting to get better.

I'm genuinely shocked at the huge U-Turn Universal have made this year.

Dear Universal: More catalogue releases like you newer ones please!

We will still get a mix of old and new masters, but hopefully no DNR will be added to the old ones that is not there already

Yeah fingers crossed.

They're the best they've ever been with catalogue titles so I hope they don't ruin that streak.

I really, really want them to remaster the BTTF trilogy, The Thing, DragonHeart & the first 2 Mummy films or at least re-release them without all the extra digital processing ala T2.

I am unconvinced, three titles and breakfast club looks funky

So I'm eyeing the Japanese set, looks like the color timing is off? Still, looks like the grain structure is intact unlike the Divimax bluray

So which cut do people prefer? First one I ever saw was the Director's Cut (though Romero never labelled it as this personally) but I prefer the theatrical cut as it has better pacing.

The Argento cut is a fun alternative but relies to heavily on a few music cues for my liking.

What do you prefer?

Theatrical cut by far, extended is too extended and Argento one is just goofy. I only ever watch the alternate cuts to hear the commentary tracks.

Personally, I never want this film to end so longer the better.

I like all three official cuts. Each has some merit. Would love the 4th, the extended mall hours cut to get an official release.

I like so many portions in the extended cut, but yeah Theatrical and Extended are my most wanted versions. But I want everything and the kitchen sink and 3D
