I still have this and it is still one of my favorite sets. Also, I have never bought an import BD but will the Umbrella editions of Night and Dawn play on a US PS3?

I have the trilogy from Umbrella and all three list ABC on the back.

I generally like that music more, but The Gonk is just inseparable from the movie for me.

Not sure which version you're referring to but there are reviews of the region-free Asian release on Amazon that say it has burned-in subtitles. Just a warning, in case that's the one you're talking about.

The Happinet release that I own has no burned in subtitles, nor does it have the ghosting from the AB/Arrow releases.

Cool, I was just going by what I read on Amazon. Probably people who don't know how to work their settings.

For the longest time, the extended cut was my go-to version since it was the first version I saw, and to me, that was the "complete" version. The theatrical seemed like it was edited for television for my tastes lol.

Until I saw the "extended mall hours cut" edit a fan editor made, which takes EVERYTHING from all 3 versions to make the longest running version of the film, 154 minutes to be exact.

It's amazing how much better just the "flow" of the film and the editing alone is when the dialogue isn't cut in every single scene.

I asked that exact same question of an eBay seller selling the Australian copy of it. He said he had sold many copies to U.S. buyers and had never had a complaint.

I have the ultimate edition set and the AB bluray, so I think I'll hold off on importing the Happinet box set (although it is pretty tempting).

It sounds like all of the transfers have a lot of pros/cons. Would it be possible that whatever was used for the 3D conversion would be an improvement for a 2D release?

I'm British and first saw the Extended version and fell in love with the movie because of it, though now I do prefer the theatrical cut.
