Do we know if the 4k set will also bundle in standard Blu Rays?

It won't matter what label, if any, eventually releases this in Region A. Criterion, Shout, Kino.... none of them will outdo Second Sight, and the only way they'll even match SS's video quality is if they're able to license the David M. encode Second Sight is having done.

Even if I knew for a fact a Region A release was on the horizon, I'd go with the upcoming UK one because I know it's going to be the best possible release.

I’m sure that’s the case and we can argue all about transfers and reasons why some are better than others. The Thing releases come to mind as people argue their points for liking either the Arrow version or the Scream version.
But my point is that Dawn of the Dead should get a releases again this side of the globe (North America). Donald has held onto the rights for far too long and he’s been doing this film dirty. Same goes for Martin as that’s unappreciated film that people are finally discovering in the last few years, but mostly in non purchasing ways.
I’m just a huge Romero fan who wants to see this genius’ work get released and out there. Blu-day tends to be the best way, imo. Looking at his work it’s sad to see how little his stuff is even streaming.

Hopefully some huge announcement and not just "Michael started working on the encode today"...

Frankly I’m expecting a full, proper announcement with full specs, cover art and release date. They’ve been giving little progress updates on the scan and restoration here and there for over a year, so if they took the time to announce that there’s going to be a specific announcement on a specific date about a month or so ahead of time, then I assume it’s pretty substantial.

They'll announce that Rubinstein cancelled the deal cause he saw a bunch of US customers planning on importing it!

I'm really intrigued by the "more news on Martin" part. Is it possible they found a longer pre-release cut or something like that?

I don't dare hope for that. Oh man, that'd be amazing.

With Severin producing some of the special features, do you think there is a chance that they might have the US rights to the film?
