I never did pick up the Dawn blu-ray, but at this point I'm still planning to keep my 4-disc DVD set. Not signed or anything cool, but it's been one of my favorites and I've loved having it in my collection for like sixteen years now.

Same with Amazon USA only some releases you can do new pre order for shipping outside USA

As more shipping options return for Amazon more items will have restrictions removed
Well, I hope it does become available to ship to the US. I did purchase a copy using my brother-in-law's UK address with hopes of changing the address to here in the States. I did that bc I wanted to secure a copy in case it sold out.

I need to rewatch my Ultimate DVD set to see if this is really something I want to spend a C-note on.

I have a copy of the Anchor Bay/Starz Blu-ray as well as my 4-disc DVD set that I was able to get autographed by David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, Gaylen Ross & Tom Savini a number of years ago in NJ. While the picture quality of the Blu-ray is great, I still enjoy the extended version from the 4-disc set. I preordered the new Second Sight UHD from Diabolik & super excited to see how their UHD discs look!!

I neglected to mention I pre-ordered the UHD set as well. lol I still don't have a UHD (or region free) player and I don't know if that will change this year. But I just don't want to miss having a probably definitive version for this movie when this is one of the few DVDs I've held onto and re-watched for so long.

Romero did one of his last public appearances across the street from where I work, and I didn’t get the time off work .

Without going and digging it up... The old AB BD release had almost all of the extras from the Ultimate Edition DVD set, correct?

Since the extras for the Second Sight will be region locked, perhaps keep the old AB BD around for that, and finally let go of that DVD boxed set...

EDIT...OK, if you are Region A only and you pair up the 4K set with the old Anchor Bay BD and Synapse's 'Document of the Dead' BD, all you are missing from the Ultimate Edition DVD are the poster/still galleries and six 30 second radio spots.

Some releases still have restrictions but some releases you can now pre order

This changes daily/weekely the amount of items where they remove the restrictions
Shipping option at checkout will be priority global shipping only but you can change this to standard global after you complete an order

Amazon UK will eventually allow pre order for USA delivery for Second Sight Dawn of the Dead release
Uhm, yeeeeah...you realize you quoted my post from 4/1?
At that time absolutely zero international shipping, at least from AmazonUK was happening?

When did you pre-order the Second Sight 4K UHD with Diabolik? I don't see a listing for it anywhere on their site.

Hope you're right. Would love for this to get a new Region A release.
Martin too. And I gotta say Bruiser just so Romero's entire work gets appreciated and true releases.

Just buy a region free 4k Blu-ray player. You can get ones on Amazon that play regular blurays from all regions.

It is. Also folks who insist on something being 'more of a classic than something else' I just don't get. It calls into question their judgement on everything and not just movies. I will say this much: Casablanca is by no means a classic horror movie and Dawn of the Dead is by no means a classic adventure/romance. Unless you count Ken Foree and Scott Reiniger, I guess.

I consider Night and Dawn and Day classics! Jaws is a classic, Exorcist is a classic, Elm Street is a classic, Predator is a classic, King Kong is a classic, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a classic, Frankenstein is a classic, Bride of Frankenstein is a classic, The Haunting 1964, The Fly 1986 is a classic, John Carpenter's The Thing is a classic etc. those are classics to me.

Perhaps but it tends to be a consensus based on those opinions. DOTD tends to be considered a horror classic. Does rank up there with films considered to be " all time classics"? Maybe not but of course those films may not be highly regarded by horror fans ( hence opinion)

It's long been held up as a classic horror film, for over 30 years. What criticism of it do you have that might potentially revoke its classic status?
