Is it just me, or does anyone else think the HDR is turned up a little bit too high somewhat?

I still have the old multi disc DVD set I blind bought years ago for like $15.

If the 4K comes to North America I’ll get it and if I find a used copy of the Blu I’ll get that.

It’s good, but it’s not that important enough for me.

I was looking into getting the Second Sight Dawn of the Dead 4K set from OrbitDVD (whenever it comes back in stock). I don't use PayPal and noticed that OrbitDVD's method for standard credit card orders is to use a 3rd party service called "Bankful". I've never heard of "Bankful". Has anyone here ever used it? Is it legit?

I suppose another option is to wait for it to come back in stock at DiabolkDVD instead and order it from them.

Thanks!

I buy from Orbit all the time. Never had a single issue with using Bankful. As far as I am concerned you can order with confidence.

I rocked those same Anchor Bay discs for over 10 years, still have Day but sold Dawn when I got the Second Sight set. Would love a fresh Day disc, but there's really nothing wrong with the Anchor Bay until then it has the OG mono track even if it's lossy.

The mono is the only thing keeping you from the excellent Scream! release?

Also I'm not sure how interested many US labels would be considering not only the cost to license the title, but coupled with the fact that most fans who love the film likely already bought the SS release so it's limited its market appeal.
True, but it's difficult for the film to find new fans when it's only available in a high-priced collector's edition that you have to import unless you live in the UK.

That's why I think it's a shame that the film isn't currently (officially) available in some form in the US. Used DVD copies aren't too hard to come by, but a lot of folks won't bother.

That's a great point - how many films became cult classics due to the glory days of VHS rentals? Heck, I'd wager a lot of Dawn's popularity came from being a rental tape back in the day.

Rubinstein needs to see the bigger picture. If you want eyeballs on your product, then it needs to be out there where it can be seen.

Rubinstein apparently made a boatload of money from the recent Dune movie, why does he need to hold Dawn hostage?

A lot of rich people seem to think their wealth will carry over with them to an afterlife.
They are the modern day pharoahs.

Wow, I had no idea he was that involved with producing, especially with Dune.

I talked to someone recently who worked with Rubinstein last year and he told me pretty much everything that is rumored about the guy is true. He really doesn't care all that much about making money from Dawn, because he's extremely wealthy already. A shame that he's holding all these movies hostage, because I'm sure many people haven't discovered this film due to its lack of availability here.

In a sane world, the film would've been public domain decades ago.

I wonder if Rubenstein is aware that Dawn has been available to watch for free on You Tube for years.

This is what I've been saying. Yes it's out there in other region formats. But the Gen Z crowd don't care about physical formats. If it ain't on streaming, who cares. Then maybe if the US rights were handled correctly we would have the film on Shudder or bigger platforms and new generations would discover this classic.
