I'd pay it.

Some lines are virtually inaudible as a result, like Scotty Reiniger's "keys to the kingdom", but it also means that a lot of the dialogue takes are subtly different than what you hear in the final version. The Argento cut isn't perfect but I'll always love it as a more action-packed Goblin-stuffed version of the movie. And now I gots it in 4K, precious.

It is a shame for people that are used to the Argento cut but have to suffer with poor audio. Though for people like me that are use to only the theatrical cut it's a nice little oddity. But hey, at least it's 4K!

I thought they used the English Mono of the European Cut from the 2004 Anchor Bay set... didn't they?

The last time I watched the Argento cut was via this set and I recall a line Savini has outside before they enter the mall that I couldn't make out.

I think it's real. The 2.0 stereo track is a mess. It's a mix-down of the 5.1, but there are noticeable distortions not present in the 5.1, so I think they screwed it up somehow. But when you listen to the mono, it's completely clean, and has a sonic character that is different than the remix.

can anyone confirm that the only 4k version in the set is the Argento cut? I was hoping the Italian 4k would include a 4k version of the theatrical cut

I'm not saying they didn't, I'm just commenting on the English mix for the Argento cut in general off the back of this latest release.

I had a quick look at the other versions too I can honestly say that I prefer the old transfer (the Arrow master specifically) to these, smearing artefacts and all, because the colour's horrible, to say nothing of the improper levels (even when doing the PC levels tweak it still can't sort the colour). The Arrow is one of the few versions that properly times out the fluorescent light in the scenes in the stairwell, it's noticeably green in the Happinet and even in the new restoration the tube light itself looks pink (!) in some shots.

Given all that, it's a shame that the 4K disc wasn't released on its own as it's carrying a lot of baggage in this set.

You know what he meant, and besides the back of the new box disagrees with you.

I would love to see Arrow release this with David M. handling the encode, but for the moment it's not be.

is Audio same on UHD as BD ?

I noticed some effects are missing on ENG 2.0 track on both w/s and fullscreen
timeline is 28.52-29.02 should here footsteps and puddle splash

effects are on Eng 5.1 track but there not as clear as Italian tracks, which has them clearer still

Yikes. At least you enjoy the 4K disc, and as far as the rest at the very least that open matte Zombi is a TFTM Reconstructed-esque curiosity unlikely to be duplicated elsewhere.

I can't help if the back of the box is wrong.

So yes, the Argento cut IS the Italian theatrical cut, despite the semantics on the box.

Why don't you go through every post in the various Dawn threads that talk about this release and "correct" everybody talking about the theatrical cut and this box-set?
