Midway thru this one..... (intermission time)

All I can say is that its a WTF period piece with Shelly Winters leading the cast.

It is in Italian 2.0 Mono Audio only

Glad I finally got a copy of this.

Transfer looks a bit muted and dated, but I can’t imagine what previous DVDs or streaming editions might have been like it it was ever offered.

If you like transgressive, slow paced, where the hell has this film been hiding, holy sh!t is that ________!

I think some are concerned because some titles were delayed and the release date was pushed

Reconfirming, now for September:

No new titles announced. I will update as more information becomes available. Looks like there were unexpected production delays on some releases.

Hailing from a unique confluence of artists – the incomparable Elvis Presley, veteran director Philip Dunne and acclaimed screenwriter Clifford Odets – Wild in the Country (1961) is an intriguing blend of melodrama and music that hits the mark with splendid casting. The King plays a hard-luck yet innately talented Shenandoah Valley delinquent guided toward a better future as a writer by a supportive psychiatrist (Hope Lange). Tuesday Weld and Millie Perkins play, respectively, his sultry cousin and childhood sweetheart, also vying for his affections, and John Ireland and Gary Lockwood are a father and son who have it in for our rebel hero. Four Presley tunes and a score by the great Kenyon Hopkins grace the soundtrack.

Special Features: Isolated Music Track / Original Theatrical Trailer

Great article about the film from Turner Classic Movies: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/95859.../articles.html

From writer/director Philip Dunne, whose director credits include Blue Denim and The View from Pompey's Head. He is probably best known for his screenplays, such as The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, How Green Was My Valley, Forever Amber, Pinky, The Robe, Demetrius and the Gladiators, The Egyptian, and many more.

Starring:

Elvis Presley (Viva Las Vegas, Flaming Star, Jailhouse Rock, Blue Hawaii, and many more)

Hope Lange (Peyton Place, The Young Lions, The Best of Everything, The True Story of Jesse James, Death Wish, Blue Velvet)

Tuesday Weld (Pretty Poison, Soldier in the Rain, Thief, Looking for Mr. Goodbar, Play It As It Lays, Sex Kittens Go to College)

Millie Perkins (The Diary of Anne Frank, The Witch Who Came from the Sea, The Shooting, Ride the Whirlwind, and many TV series and movies)

Seriously ! Your speaking for others . How pathetic . Don't read my posts if you do not want to . I do not claim to have the best way of punctuation and frankly I could care less to impress you or anyone else . I do not concern myself with anyone else's opinion of me . I would like to get a long with everyone of course but I am not here to impress you or anyone else and I do not worry of anyone else's opinion of me .

It is very childish for you to post about my grammar etc.

I might be wrong however from my perspective it looks as if twilight time might be struggling money wise thus instead of releasing 4 titles a month they are now doing 2 or so . I think they have way to many titles and they are not selling out of hardly any . That is likely because many older titles they had are really unpopular in terms of not selling out of . The last sale was horrible .
The worst sale ever IMO .
When they had prices at $6.99 , $9.99 & $14.99 they would sell out of between 4-9 titles each time or so .
I am sure some people are sellers out there . I think the reality is that twilight time has a solid following however they do not have enough of a following that if each person bought 1 of each title they still would not sell out of anyone title fast enough . So that said they likely need sellers to buy quantity from them to maintain them staying in business long term as sellers buy quantity of but will only do so if the sale is good enough . If not sellers will go buy other stuff and that will mean they are not buying twilight time titles .

I am sure twilight time would prefer sellers to not buy larger quantities but I think they need to cater to both the customer whom just buys 1 of as well as to the sellers.
I am not a seller but I understand what is going on .
I cannot say for sure what I am saying about them struggling is a fact or not . I am just saying from the outside looking in and as I am a fan of twilight time movies and have followed them for years now this is what I believe .

I hope their next sale is fantastic and prices are far better . I would like to see twilight tome stay in business but if they do not price items far better I think it could be their downfall . They need to realize other companies are re releasing these far cheaper after the fact that they are selling these and people want the best deal .

Hope they release more movies starring Paul Newman , Marilyn Monroe , Jack Nicholson , Elizabeth Taylor , Clint Eastwood & Dolly Parton .

I think that's less to do with "struggling money wise" and more to do with losing the contracts with Fox and MGM and not getting any others to replace them with.

I think Jayembee is correct about TT, even though he ended his sentence with a preposition (just trying to do my part for the grammar police!).

Disney's acquisition of Fox may be the culprit here.

Pretty much. I believe there’s been something of an embargo currently for new Fox deals and the labels currently releasing Fox titles (TT, Shout, Eureka, Signal One, Eureka) are past deals from before the embargo.

Worse, restoration on Fox titles has apparently been halted and Disney may be playing hardball by not making the kind of accomodations to license periods that happen when a studio has an ongoing deal and misses the schedule to provide the delivery materials (master, extras, publicity material, etc). And, along with the replication delays every label seems to have at the moment, sadly TT are having to adjust to a recent and very personal loss.

(I never agreed with that rule. There's no prohibition about ending a clause with a preposition, and a sentence is just a bigger clause.)

Talking of issues with replication plants, it's not just Blurays that are affected...

And maybe the biggest clause of all is Santa Claus.

Not true. There has been talk of Disney implementing their normal stronghold with repertory screenings of Fox titles but restoration is business as usual.

And yet both The Iron Horse and Whirlpool restorations TT was waiting on have both fallen by the wayside.
