What do you think of Places in the Heart and A Month in the Country?
It's funny, i was just thinking of the latter these days and was searching to see if there is any DVD or other release.

I love "Places in the Heart". I saw it in the theater back in 84 was the first time I was introduced to John Malkovich and Danny Glover! Sally Field won best actress for the second time for her performance. Just a wonderful film!

So uh, it's been almost 20 days and my order hasn't shipped. Someone here told me to send them a "polite" email, well.. i sent one on thursday and no response. I'm starting to really dislike this company..

The sad thing is i made a separate order for a preorder that is being released this tuesday. So i paid for shipping twice for nothing i guess..

So.. anyone else have an order that hasn't shipped yet?

SAE's shipping is slow in comparison to other large retailers. They package everything by hand and are undoubtedly overwhelmed with the annual TT sale and the new releases.

What are the chances of TT releasing a Blu-ray of ROBIN AND MARIAN (Columbia/Sony Pictures) which starred Sean Connery, Audrey Hepburn and Robert Shaw?

I have 4 orders that haven't shipped yet. But they'll get here, in time.

They don't work weekends, so yeah, no surprise you haven't had a response yet. Mine has also been three weeks and hasn't shipped, and it did not include any preorders. Chill out.

I wanted ONE of them (When the Wind Blows), but if it's more than a week since I made the order and nothing happens, I have to recover my financial losses. And I kinda want to for safety reasons; I've been spending more than I'm willing to recover as of late.

OK I understand. I thought you were just throwing a tantrum at TT because they weren't shipping fast enough to your liking.

Believe me, if the job economy is in my favor, I would've let the order be. One quality I have in me is patience.

Any chance TT picks up Compulsion (1959) from Fox? It has already received a French release (with a lot of supplements: link), so an HD master exists, and TT seems to be the best bet for a US release.

I placed an order on the 2nd of this month. It has not shipped, but the good news is I contacted them about it a little over a week ago or so and they replied saying that my order was still in the que and that they are working to complete all the orders they received during the course of the sale. They also said that I would get an email confirmation when they shipped. So I'm not worried. They are a small company from what I've heard and it takes them a bit longer to do things with limited staff that major studios and retailers can do in a matter of hours if not minutes. I have so many movies I've bought, with more still on the way, that it would embarrass me to say just how much so I am not hurting over this little delay. It'll get here when it does.

I don't care how small you are, 20 days is too long. I am saying this objectively, my sale order was shipped in 3 business days, which is fine. 20 days is not fine.

I would agree 20 days is quite a while but unless SAE changes their shipping method/process or they increase personnel I can't see this effect changing anytime soon. It does appear SAE's shipping effectiveness has been stressed, at times, ever since TT came on the scene.

The Other...finally got to see it today with my wife . We both really liked it. I tried not to read much about it and just enjoyed the movie without trying to predict what was going on. Thus, the surprises were very enjoyable. Great, unexpected ending as well.


EDIT: the Blu looks fantastic...a top transfer imo . The only thing negative is that the replay value would not be great, at least for me. I will revisit at some point .
