They've had a select few of them on their site...I can remember maybe 3 or 4 covers. Interestingly...they sell a Vivre Sa Vie poster, but the art is different than the cover art (I really like the look of it, actually)

Are you freaking kidding me? They have a handful of posters for sale and that's one of them.

I wanted a poster of the cover of Vivre Sa Vie. That's not the cover. I would also like one of Belle De Jour, I really like the cover.

Ah, gotcha.

I'd really like a print of my avatar. It's the inside art from Sweet Smell of Success.

I'm not a big hang-stuff-on-my-walls person but I would definitely make an exception for this.

Agreed on that Octagon! Both cases are quite nice! I did get to watch Anatomy over the weekend...well done Otto!

Sorry about your eye...speedy recovery!

I just re-watched Seven Samurai. I'm going be the redundant reviewer and state again that this film is so beyond amazing. It gets better and better every time I watch it.

Yes! I've seen it about 5 or so times now (maybe more) and it really never gets old for me. I feel like there's something for everyone in the movie. I've actually bought the movie 3 times now lol, the old crtierion DVD, the re-release, and now the blu, but it's totally worth it. Did the same with Yojimbo/Sanjuro too, and I'd gladly do it with Hidden Fortress (which might be my favorite Kurosawa movie overall) in a heartbeat

Personally, I'd love Criterion editions of Sony owned Columbia films; the Swimmer, Mickey One and The Front.
Not at my Best Buy. Best Buy Canada only has a 14.99 DVD copy of Guns of Navarone.

The new version Stepford Wives, the one directed by Miss, Piggy, isn't even available on Amazon, unless I want to pay a marketplace seller for a copy. That Paramount DVD of the original came out in 2004 (8 years ago!), and it starts at 43.00 for a DVD. It also appears to be OOP in the US as well, as again, only Marketplace sellers have it. Even though Paramount now owns it, doesn't mean that Criterion still couldn't go after it, considering that Harold and Maude was Paramount upon its DVD release.

I was just listing some of the Columbia films I like as well.

Yeah, there's a lot of potential in the Columbia library.

In fact, I'd love to Kino elbow their way into that discussion.

The more the merrier, I say.
Throw in Cat Ballou and Murder by Death, and we have a deal.

US Amazon has it for $4. Not a marketplace item, either.

The original is OOP though.

Criterion might want to go after Resnais' Je t'aime, je t'aime - a Fox title that has never been given a DVD release as far as I know.

The original is OOP though.
That's the remake, and the actual Amazon one is 7.99, once you dig through 3 or 4 pages. I admit my mistake there. The 4 dollar one is a seller fulfilled by Amazon in the one you linked to me.

I paid 5 bucks for the remake at Wally-World back in 2005, so I don't need a copy anyways. I was just pointing out the the original isn't a "recent" release, is OOP, and quite pricy, contrary to what one poster said. Paramount hold the rights to the original film, because they and Dreamworks were responsible for the remake.

I was also pointing out that I'm not an American, and therefore, do not have access to the same stock and/or prices. That 4 dollar DVD still won't be 4 dollars by the time shipping and the exchange are factored in, even if the Market Seller ships to Canada, as many don't.

I don't think it takes a genius that Criterion might be involved here.
Let's hope so. Also, I'd love to see them do Johnny Guitar -- if it's not in rights hell. I think Paramount owns it currently?

It was nice of Criterion to break it up into its two episodes, if you don't have the full 3 1/2 hours to devote to it. I will say that while I have a hard time sitting through anything over 2 hours without interruption, World On A Wire zips along quite nicely.
I'll let you know what he thinks about it...he better not ruin it for me, by giving spoilers!

We need more Nicholas Ray in general. I'm surprised that it's taking Warner this long to release Rebel Without a Cause.

Forget Rebel Without a Cause, I want East of Eden. Not a Ray, but I thought it was the best Dean film.

I'd like to see 55 Days at Peking for Ray.

I was able to borrow a copy of The BRD Trilogy from a friend so I'm pretty excited to check these out. The only other Fassbinder I have seen is World on a Wire, which I loved. Does the order you watch them in matter? I know they were released out of order so I'm wondering if there is any connection between the films other than theme. Is it like the three colors trilogy?

I e-mailed Disney a few weeks ago and they said that they had no plans to release Wes Anderson's films on Blu-Ray in 2012 but I don't think they have the rights to The Darjeeling Limited.
