Legit. Universal has released dozens of their catalog titles, from the 30s onward, in Spain. They’re all region-free and barebones, but the ones I have all look and sound great. Many of the same titles were licensed to Kino here, but some haven’t been released here at all yet.

I don't mean to derail the thread, but has anyone here watched that extra film on the Criterion release of PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK? If so, can you give an honest assessment of it?
The reason I ask is because I've been eyeing the Australian Blu of HANGING ROCK, which would save me about $8.00 and has all the extras I need from this movie except the bonus film. Otherwise, the Criterion extras seem awfully repetitive and I would be just as happy with the Aussie Blu. Thanks in advance! |

My amazon adventure:
Parasite arrived today in a padded envelope in perfect condition. Police Story shipped yesterday, but won’t be here for another week..?? Roma was supposed to be delivered Sunday and they gave me the option today to either refund or resend claiming it might be lost. I chose resend since it was a solid deal. The padded envelope was exciting though. |

Pasolini is one of those directors who I always forget how captivating their films are. I finally finished the trilogy tonight with Arabian Nights and while it's not a perfect film it held my attention throughout.

Othello has Filming ‘Othello’, Welles’s final completed feature-length work during his lifetime, as an extra. More an essay film than a straight documentary.

I threw down $668.07 for a couple of trips to 2 different B&N. I don't think I'm done yet. MAYBE for in store.
1st trip, $405.07 for these: [Show spoiler] 2nd trip, $263.00 for these: [Show spoiler] Wanted to get the Vardas, BRD, and some other sets. But freaking B&N w/ their damned spider wire. It ruins the sets. I'm amazed the Lee set wasn't wired up. ![]() Due to the spider wire issue...I ask, how does B&N handle the packaging if you have it sent to the actual store? Like do I have better chance of a non mucked up case if I do it that way? I've had them ship directly to me before and it was iffy w/ the packaging. Hell, how is Criterion w/ their packaging? Cuz I'll wait for their next sale on the site if they package well. Last edited by Mr. Chaverria; 11-13-2020 at 12:41 AM. |

i had the large sets shipped from B&N. For the Ingmar Bergman set, they put that inside a study/tight box within the shipment box. No way anything was going to hurt that item. Very impressed. I did that specifically to avoid any damage from store spider wrappings (I just can't handle those).

The Gunfighter was exquisite...Peck hasn't let me down in a western yet (or really, ever.)
I did roll my eyes though with every Wyatt Earp mention...while the dude was feared and fearless, he was never renowned for having a particularly fast draw. His pal Doc Holliday, however, was. |
