Me too, and I'm not sad about it.

No idea, but it was on the Channel a while back (which is where I watched it for the first time), so it wouldn't surprise me.

Eureka have said they lose the UK rights at the end of the year, which was fuelling the general paranoia that Criterion were going to lose more Paramount movies, but perhaps the opposite is true and they're losing it because Criterion have picked it up on both sides of the pond?

The current Blu-ray only set is not out of print, it's just between pressings. The BD+DVD set has been OOP for a long time.

Doubtful, as there haven't been any dual region Paramount titles.

We were saying the same about Fox until recently, and MGM. Criterion seem to have pushed through some new deals for the UK.

Criterion did introduce an element of doubt in an email response to a member last summer:

I see no grey area in the Not OOP part, just when the next batch would be delivered which was a few months later.

It was in stock at Amazon Criterion and possibly B&N for several weeks if not a couple months before it was gone again.

If you are Region B compatible -- Zavvi.com is listing the UK version for sale.
Compared to the Ebay price of the US set, you could easily buy the UK set and a region free player and still have money leftover to buy a bunch of Arrow B-Locked Items

"It is possible this title will not be restocked but that has not been finalized."

A bit strange, then, to add the above statement if it was just a matter of waiting for more.

True about Fox titles, those were quite the surprise. (Also surprising is that some Fox titles have recently popped up on the Criterion Channel.)

Still, until there is a Paramount title released in the UK, I wouldn't expect any Paramount titles to get released in the UK.

Depends on if you get an original set with uncorrected disc or not. Still it's an option

OTOH, 20 blurred pixels buried in 2200 minutes vs $250 extra or even doing without? I guess the wait continues for the next restock then.

The uncensored ones are long, long OOP I would imagine.

Hey everyone, Eric Skillman - Criterion’s prolific art director - is in the hospital with COVID. He checked in on Twitter asking for some good vibes and pick me ups, so if you’re so inclined, consider dropping him a note at @EricSkillman.

Either I read and forgot or never knew -- UK Criterion released a second version with a different UPC in 2019. I'll assume that was to differentiate the original Box with the Corrected Boxset. 5050629258738 (original) vs 5050629258721 (corrected)

Again is a couple seconds of a blurred snake worth doing without or currently paying $200-300+ to get the US edition, or waiting for the next refill and hope you catch it in time? It took almost a year for the last restock to happen. For some people I suspect that dying snake is a hill to climb up

Scenes enacted using animal cruelty (killing or endangering them in real for the purpose of onscreen entertainment) are censored as per law.

In the UK -- animal cruelty laws and media.

This isn't simulated or Special Effects work BTW and wasn't considered a painless death.

There are quite a few westerns and war/cavalry films in which dangerous techniques were used to do stunts and animal fall which caused quite a few serious and lethal animal injuries during filming -- many of these are (or would be) censored if released in teh UK.
