Maybe you're thinking of another title? You can use the Wayback Machine on that page and set it to July 1st just to see that I'm not messing with you.

I don't think so. I remember seeing those exact pictures, this one in particular stood out to me because it's so creepy

i

But I also remember this one and this one distinctly too. I thought maybe it was from a review of the Eureka disc, but I checked DVDbeaver, and this site's review and it didn't have it. Not sure what to make of it. Ironically, the 3 pictures I see from the Wayback Machine aren't really that recognizable to me

I hope you're right! Been waiting a long time to upgrade this one. One of Kei Sato's best performances.

Was hoping we finally would get Cure for an October release, but I'll take Onibaba as well.

Seconded—ever since Cure appeared on the Hulu collection, I’ve been chomping at the bit for a US Blu. Especially since they should also have the rights to Charisma and Seance.

Totally. I see it as being 1099 or 1101 to be right next to Kane either way.

Seems Othello isn't available via Amazon...

And Branagh's Hamlet is both difficult to find and expensive. WTF?

I'm hoping Criterion will release The Other Side of the Wind (w/ They'll Love Me When I'm Dead as an extra maybe?) before releasing Mank.

Three of the discs in mine were loose and HAD scratches on all three and a thumbprint on one. Contacted Criterion for replacement. Last time I order a box set without confirmation the set has a slot for the disc where they snap in like a a regular blu ray case. Super annoying.

If we somehow got both Cure and Onibaba in the same month...that would be a dream come true for sure.

My buddy, as incredibly kind as he is, got me the Fellini Set during this sale. I haven't had a chance to open it yet, sadly, but I can tell there's a loose disc in there. Is it merely a shipping issue or does it have to do with how the discs are stacked/housed inside? I haven't really looked into it but I know others have echoed similar concerns about it.

Here's hoping that since today's announcements are for October that we get at least one horror title. Hopefully the long rumored Freaks, I'd buy that day one.

It Freaks came out and didn’t overlap with the flash sale I’d probably have no choice but to buy it early for Halloween watching

It's how they are stacked and housed inside, they are inserted in a kind of designated 'sleeve' for each film. Same way the Bergman set was set up a few years ago.

Even if they aren't loose and scratched the first time you open the set, each time you take a disc out of the sleeve or put it back there's a chance it could get scratched because of how tight the disc has to be in the sleeve to not be loose.

Just a case of criterion being cheap, really.

Freaks would be a dream come to true.

Additionally, I'm hoping that they'll release more pre-code in general. I don't know how often they can successfully license stuff from Warner, for instance, but I hope one day that Baby Face will make it into the Collection.
