I honestly think it will never get a region A release. Besides there is already a terrific and readily avalaible release and in 4K, from Second Sight. I can't see any label topping that.

I'm positive it will get a Region A release...eventually. The question is when and if it will before or after Rubenstein's death, etc. It will happen, but if it will be within the next year or 10 years is really the bigger question.

About six months ago I reached to nearly every single major boutique label in the US and pretty much was told they wouldn't be release it. The only ones I didn't get a response from was Criterion, VS, and Well Go USA. So I guess, it's possible as it was rumored they were going after it at one point.

Huuuuuuge month. This answers why the Safdies did a Criterion Closet video a while back. I'm just disappointed in the Ratcatcher art, was really hoping they'd do something different. It's probably my least favorite in the collecction.

Uncut Gems is huge. I mean, that's an A24 film, so does that mean they have a deal with them?! It's disappointing it's not a UHD release though.

I have more faith in an Orsen Welles BD box set then a Citizen Kane UHD considering its been reported WB is not licensing out UHD rights at the moment. Cannes is showing a new 4K DCP for F is Fake and I've heard rumors Chimes at Midnight also has a new 4K master. Mr. Arkadin is rumored to be with Criterion. One just seems more plausible and likely then the other.

I was making sure you weren't wrongly insinuating All About Eve was licensed from WB. OTOH, other posts have made it clear that WB *did* recently license Kane to Criterion, whether for UHDBD or otherwise (and consistent with the winddown of WAC), and that its existing BD master was already in 4K. (Nothing wrong with that; Sony reused the 8K / 4K master it made for its BD of Lawrence of Arabia for Columbia Classics Vol. 1, though it made further digital refinements for the UHDBD.) I originally predicted It Happened One Night & The Silence of the Lambs as Criterion's first UHDBDs, but with those clarifications I'm now leaning more towards Kane to go with Lambs.

I wonder why, The regular BD looked great already.

I wasn't sure exactly what Kane BD came from when I said that; others have since clarified that it was a 4K master.

**Oh, man...just noticed that HIGH SIERRA includes an entire second film, COLORADO TERRITORY, as a bonus feature. Incredibly happy right now. Can't wait to add that one to the collection.

High Sierra and Onibaba for sure. Uncut Gems is one of my favorite films period, but going to wait and see if the picture is any better than the Lionsgate release, as that one looked amazing. (Though a thicker box for Uncut Gems is tempting) Either way, solid month.

High Sierra is a great choice. Surprised WB never issued it through their archive label.
