Gonna be honest, not the first time. I'll get it tomorrow, but come on.
To be fair a lot of those incomplete address or delayed deliveries aren;t anything your Postman has control of. Those are most often issues at the Post Office when the distribution happens either by machine and/or human (not usually your actual carrier, but the middle of th night crew)-- the package gets put on the wrong route or someone doesn't load it onto the correct truck/pallet/pickup area (depending on the size and location of the PO, it's done a bit differently).

Sometimes it can be the carrier and the package falls over behind another group and items and gets missed when they come by your house and isn't found until all the other stuff is offloaded and something is left undelivered. If it happens a lot you could ask if your carrier knows what's going on and if it's at the front end, take it up with the Postmaster/Local Office Manager to see if they can fix the problem with flitering/distribution.

I am going to have Lost Highway and Muholland Dr. double feature tonight.
Possibly best of both worlds if you are planning another trip in a couple weeks -- the BN return/exchange should be 30 days now fro everyone so if you take you receipt back after the 50% off starts you could ask for a partial refund (or a rebuy/original receipt return). 45 minutes trip may not be worth it if you weren't going to the area anyway

Watched Michael Haneke's The Piano Teacher last night on HBO Max. Wow, so many Criterions on that streaming provider, if I didn't mention previously (don't worry, I'm not making money promoting HBO), and this was one of the titles I'd been meaning to watch for a while.

While this isn't an official review like my last one I posted a few days ago, I just have to say, this is a BRUTAL story about one woman's self-destruction. Ironically, the movie I had just reviewed a few days back (Under the Volcano) was about a man's self-destruction. But I have to say, though I own one of Haneke's films on blu-ray (Code Unknown), this is NOT a movie I would ever want to purchase, much less watch again because of its depravity. Furthermore, I think the main character of Erika Kohut could be one of the most unlikeable female characters ever put to screen. However, Isabelle Huppert made an incredible performance in this film, despite the depressing story.

So as disturbing as this film is, I give it 3.5 stars out of 4, but it's a movie I will never watch again.

The Piano Teacher does indeed have great work from Isabelle Huppert. One of her many notable roles.

Got in both of my flash sale orders today. The packaging for Citizen Kane 4k is pretty much terrible. I don't know why they keep making them so user non-friendly. The 4k disc in my set was stuck to the package itself. Glue or something I can't get off is right on the very edge of the disc. It seems to play fine, but I will have to watch it tonight or tomorrow fully to be sure there isn't a problem. I don't know why they always go to this style of packaging though. At best they get banged up, scuffed, etc. sitting on shelves. At worst they get stuck and can't come out of the little slip sleeves...

I generally don’t have package issues with their titles but this one was like opening that box in Hellraiser.

I love the packaging of Citizen Kane...in theory.

Practically, it makes me glad I have all my movies on a media server.

Don't know how I didn't find out about this sooner but Seijun Suzuki's BRANDED TO KILL won the Venice Classics Award for Best Restored Film.

After doing a quick search on Nikkatsu's site, it was a 4K restoration. Suzuki's movies aren't suited for everyone but Branded to Kill is my favorite Criterion title so a 4K UHD is now possible (Doesn't indicate a 99% chance of a 4K UHD but still). Curious to see how the 4K restoration looks.

4K restoration trailer for Branded to Kill

[Show spoiler]

Imamura's Profound Desires of the Gods also got a 4K restoration as well. Explains well why both of these titles went OOP in the UK markets recently.

Rest of the titles that were restored, including Yang's Confucian Confusion!

Oh yeah, that's right. The Kino rumor was nixed:

This would be a cool month:

The Most Dangerous Game*
The Element of Crime*
Three Colors 4K (with correct colours and compression please)
Seven Samurai 4K
Brazil 4K

*possibly too small for UHD but they should get a modern 4K scan regardless.

Given the Wall-E announcement, which I still can't believe, I'll be happy with any Disney release. Be it another Pixar movie or an 1937-67 Disney Animated movie: Fantasia, Toy Story, Alice in Wonderland, etc.
