If I could only choose one, I think Blood In Blood Out is the Disney-owned film I’d really like to see on Blu. I’d love Dead Presidents too though.

Menace II Society was one of their first UHD releases. If the Hughes have the clout to push for Dead Presidents being licensed out, I definitely could see Criterion doing it. God knows Disney will never release it themselves.

Exactly I highly doubt Disney would ever release it themselves it’s way more likely for Criterion to release it instead, and the Hughes brothers would definitely push for Criterion to release it.

Since Amazon was disappointing me I drove to the local B&N and picked up Anatomy of a Fall and Paris, Texas.

If Criterion were to release some more "Disney" movies, why not some Chicano films like Blood In Blood Out

Hey, if it's one company THAT MAY get Titan A.E. it's FIRST Blu-ray & 4kUHD release, it would be Criterion. I would expect the same to go for Anastasia as well in terms of 4KUHD.

Titan A.E. is so high up on my wishlist that I hope Criterion does it soon, or at some point that along with Dead Presidents both getting released from Criterion would be fantastic. It needs to happen I want it to happen, and hopefully it does happen either this year, the next, or two years from now.

It's never going to happen.

I have a feeling that the next Disney/Fox title Criterion will release is Napoleon Dynamite. Hess confirmed a 4K is coming, Jon Heder's made talk show appearances, it doesn't seem like a movie Disney would release themselves...

It is hard to pull the trigger on some of the blu-rays knowing a 4K upgrade might come

We're likely getting 4K upgrades of all of these before the year is over:

Seven Samurai - 70th anniversary, new 4K playing in theaters
Army of Shadows - New restoration, already scheduled for UK/France
Paris, Texas - New restoration, 40th anniversary
Godzilla '54 - New restoration, 70th anniversary
On the Waterfront - 70th anniversary, might be through Sony though.
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg - 60th anniversary, new restoration

When Napoleon Dynamite does get a 4K release, I’m gonna throw my DVD over them mountains.

I would love a Criterion release of Dead Presidents. I have their laserdisc edition and the supplements are incredible.

Heads up…the 4 Heisei-Era films are now of the Channel…and start with the criterion logo.

The Return of Godzilla
Godzilla vs Biollante
Godzilla vs King Ghodorah
Godzilla vs Mothea

Hopefully the other three films are owned by Criterion eventually

I really like these films more than the Showa Era personally
