The most you would gain out of that would be less discs as the technical quality would not improve very much, if at all.

Really, it's a great set and as good as television has gotten again in the past 20 years, you still will never see the likes of these Golden Age writers again. Having it all in one collection will add a lot to your library as these are all unlikely prospects for ever streaming and being immediately accessible sure beats searching for good watchable copies on YouTube.
Agree 100%. This set is the kind of thing I love about collecting...even most die-hard movie/TV fans would probably never even be aware of a set like this and I find it a fascinating piece of history.

I always thought it was only for Criterion Channel charter subscribers (i.e. those who have had the service since it was launched). Maybe they've expanded the codes to others, which is fine - I'm just happy to receive them, and certainly don't subscribe just to get the codes!

I didn't subscribe until their black friday sale price last year, and this is the second time I've gotten a code from them

Some of us got $10 codes this time last year who are not subscribers at all. Perhaps it's like airline upgrades where they sometimes pick customers at random?

I have been active on their mailing list for way over a decade and I still get the codes. But I do not get the codes days earlier like the Criterion Channel subscribers, I get it by e-mail the night before.

Thanks for the recommendations, I too have been eyeing this set for a while but haven't pulled the trigger. Maybe I'll pick it up this time around.

Holy moly, That Andrew Garfield closet video hits hard. The end where he says “I wouldn’t be in this closet without my dad”. Incredible.

Yeah, that's got to be the best closet video I've seen.

Got my cart loaded up and ready...I keep a running list of the absurd amount of things I want, but for this sale I'm limiting it to:

The Underground Railroad
Lost Highway
Eraserhead
The Elephant Man
All of Us Strangers
Anatomy of a Fall
To Die For
Charulata

Completing my "Lynch on Criterion" collection plus a few other gems ~

Will have to sit this flash sale out, but will definitely be in for the B&N sale next month as with the holiday rush at work we will be working extra hours which means more money to spend on Blu-rays.

Flash sale!

I kind of fell in love with this Peckinpah joint when I discovered his filmography as a whole. Very glad to have skipped the old DVD.

Haven't seen this in forever, but I need all the Macbeths in a row on my shelf.

Freed from Netflix jail! I just love how del Toro creates worlds.

I've only seen it once, in the very early days of my Netflix DVD subscription, and I've wanted it ever since. Patience pays off...sometimes.

Spooky!

I got these four:

La Haine
Bound
Peeping Tom
Happiness

last two are blind buys but seem right up my alley.

For some reason, and I'm not complaining, they're back to not charging sales tax in California. For what it's worth.
