Being reminded of The Wedding Banquet, I decided to watch Pushing Hands. Ang Lee is an expert at probing into family dynamics and relationships, the balance of it all, while juggling multiple characters. I like that even the side characters, the ones we see briefly, carry so much weight. I wish Criterion would release both along with Eat Drink Man Woman.

Yeah, here’s hoping! Every once in awhile, Criterion openly pines for it to re-enter the collection as Spine no. 1. (I think they mentioned they were still hoping to get it back someday when they briefly got it for streaming on Filmstruck.)

That's disappointing, especially since their site prominently notes all three films are from 4K restorations. Any chance of screenshots?
