Well besides House Party that is as that's the only title to be confirmed for November along with that Eclipse set. Who knows what else we're getting for November though.

I know Fox always makes it dicey, but they ARE straight-up licensing Universal intellectual property like the score for the episode, so maybe there’s a small deal to be made. Here’s hoping!

I wonder if Criterion can actually get that Simpsons episode licensed as a bonus feature in HD. I would like it since to get a Simpsons cartoon episode on a Criterion collection Blu-Ray would be sweet. That sounds like a lot of work though, and who knows how much money Disney would want just to get a Simpsons episode as a special feature. It seems super unlikely, but I would love it if Criterion somehow got to put this Simpsons episode as a special feature on one of their future Cape Fear 4K plus Blu-Rays.

So yes I would love to get this so bad even if it's not very likely to happen.

I am having a hunch that a 4K of Johnny Guitar is gonna be a Criterion release. Saw it in the cinema today at the BFI in London and the 4K that they sourced the Eureka UK bluray from is very good.

Predictions for November:
1. Hud (Maybe the supplementary material isn't ready to go, but it's a big enough title to warrant a November release)
2. Lolita ( Based on the recent announcement from Bill Hunt I'm inclined to believe everything is in place for an immediate release)
3. Model Shop ( Criterion seems to release a few Sony titles every year, and this film fits the mold considering the director involved)
4. Raise the Red Lantern (Criterion's been rumored to have had this title for a few years now, and November seems as good a time as any to showcase one of the big prestige titles of 90s China.
5. Abraham's Valley (Perhaps this will be in an Eclipse Series set on Oliveira, but I'll take the chance that Criterion will want a standalone release of one of Portugal's most celebrated titles)

Guesses

Eclipse Series 47 BD (maybe a second Eclipse set to prove their seriousness)
Il Grido 4K (maybe just a BD release)
House Party 4K
Hud 4K
Killers of the Flower Moon 4K
Lost in Translation 4K
The Night of the Hunter 4K
The Sweet Hereafter 4K (with "The Adjuster" as a BD extra)

If they go the Kubrick route with Lolita, I expect them to re-release The Killing/Killer's Kiss and Paths of Glory in 4K.

EDIT: I forgot about Janus Contemporaries. It should be "Caught in the Tides" as it just premiered this month on the Channel.

Don’t know if it was a pricing error or a one-off price match but I jumped on that Funny Girl 4K for 15 and some change. Never seen a Criterion title, let alone 4K, go this cheap. If the movie stinks then it won’t be a major loss. Something tells me it won’t

I've been hoping for this as well. Kino said a while back somewhere on here that they did not have it, so it's possible.

There are no holidays preventing announcements this friday, right?

I hope that Dog Day Afternoon, Network, In A Lonely Place, A Matter Of Life And Death and Patton (Disney, I know) get announced. At least two of these.

I didn't know Dog Day Afternoon was forthcoming from Criterion. Would be a fantastic announcement, however, I'm personally rooting for The French Connection.

Terrible at guessing, but if they announced these 3, I'd buy them day 1:

Lolita
The Brother from Another Panet
Christiane F.

Getting some Sirk in HDR would be a real event! His films are begging for 4K, and would make a sensational box set.

On Christmas eve, whenever I sit down to watch a good Christmas movie with the wife and kids, we always end up picking either It's a Wonderful Life or Eyes Wide Shut.

Taking a wild guess that the long rumored French Connection release will be in November.

I will definitely get it as long as it’s not that censored version.
