But the character Annie was older, so even if Sherilynn Fenn was older than Heather Graham, Audrey was younger than Annie. And even if Audrey was 18, she was still in high school...

What do y'all think about the casting of Moira Kelly as Donna Hayward in Fire Walk with Me?
I didn't particularly mind, because Kelly's Donna seemed more convincing as Laura Palmer's friend, and because I always had trouble taking Lara Flynn Boyle seriously in the role, because of her part in Wayne's World. Both actresses ultimately did well, though. There's a slight disconnect between the way that Donna behaves in Fire Walk with Me versus her behavior in the television series, but that can probably be explained by Donna's trauma after her friend's death. The Cutting Edge (1992), which stars Moira Kelly, will never be a Criterion title, but it's a fun little movie. EDIT: As it turns out, this movie already has a Blu-ray release, and I didn't realize it until now. So many releases slip through the cracks and escape my attention... Except that Audrey was 17-18 and Annie was at least 23 (she spent 5 years in a convent after high school). Doesn't matter what the actresses ages are, but the characters. So it does hold up.

I believe there was an interview where it was mentioned the UK was getting this as a release, so it would be harsh if they had access to a 4K master and released it in a new market with the old master! I'd expect old stock to dry up at some point this year and a new version to be announced.

I've hesitated over the past 2 weeks to break out my sealed Twin Peaks Complete Series blu-ray box set and watch it all over again, starting with Fire Walk with Me, but I want to segue directly into the new season on SHOWTIME after its been fully aired so I can binge watch it right after I'm done with season 2 of the Twin Peaks TV series. I definitely could have began with the film and then segued into the tv series when I watched this a few years ago, but instead I started with the tv series and then watched the movie after I was all done. But being that I've forgotten a bit about the show, I may do the reverse and start with Fire Walk with Me! That would be the correct order to watch, right? Since the movie is a prequel, taking place before the TV series story. |

It also introduces things not in the show (and screws up some of the things the show says happened), so it's meant to be seen after you know the basics the show introduces. |

Greetings, gang! Sorry to have been a bit MIA, of late. Life has been chaotic, to say the least. I've been working out 2-3 hours every day, and studying in an effort to get off of disability for my back, and get back to work at Ameritrade. I've also been trying to repair my relationship with my girlfriend. I've missed participating in the discussion here tremendously, and I'm ready to start chatting again. I hope you all have been well!
![]() Tonight is going to make for a fun fun fun evening of movie watching! I'm finally getting around to checking out Terrence Malick's The New World. I've had it since the day Criterion released it, but I haven't had a chance to sit down to view it. I've seen the film once before (and loved it), but I cannot remember which version I saw. I'm doing the 150 minute version tonight, and then later, I'll watch the blow-out 172 minute version with the color correcting. /happy dance This marks the beginning of a concerted effort on my part to start knocking out a major portion of my unwatched film collection, with a focus on my Criterion blu-rays. I am getting The Phantom Carriage in the mail tomorrow, and that will be my next film to watch. It's legendary as the movie that inspired Ingmar Bergman to become a director. Apparently, the master watched it over 100 times!! So, I'm absolutely jazzed to see it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next, I will be watching Mel Gibson's Apocalypto. Braveheart remains one of my all-time favorite films, and, thus far, of the 2017 Best Picture nominees I've seen, I thought Hacksaw Ridge was most deserving of the Academy Award (I've seen Moonlight, La La Land, and Arrival, as well. Hidden Figures and Hell or High Water are next up). Since Apocalypto is out of print here, I imported a copy from Amazon UK-about $10 delivered. Can't beat it. My laptop isn't my Sony flat screen, but it will more than suffice, for now. And, I just ordered the re-release of Shane, which I have never seen. That is my 950th blu-ray. I can't believe I'm nearly to 1,000 blus. I have my work cut out for me!! I'm also heavy into Hitchcock, again. In the last three weeks, I've re-watched Vertigo, and have seen Notorious, Spellbound, The Wrong Man, and North By Northwest for the first time. I picked up a used, but pristine copy of Cohen Media's release of Jamaica Inn. That is next up, then I'm going to order The Lodger. That will give me 25 Hitch films on blu-ray. I'm also delving into Francois Truffaut's filmography more in depth. Hitchcock/Truffaut has really inspired me. I'm going to be a busy boy! ![]() |

I'm so happy that I came home during my lunch break just to install it. lol.
I actually didn't know until today because they never sent an email like they did when it launched on Apple TV It was a brutal long wait after getting the beta almost a year ago, I never felt like I could really dive into it. |
