Yeah, I saw that after I made that post. Very interesting. I bet those two are with their respective producer companies now.

I thought CC would be more expensive in UK. This looks like a decent deal:

Regardless, most UK-based folks usually voice how much more expensive CC is compared to other labels. Maybe that particular title is not the norm, but I thought the price was very reasonable and similar to what we pay here in the US

I’m a sucker for anything with Grant or Myrna Loy, so I’ll knock it off by this weekend. |

Last February was a huge month for Criterion with both Silence of the Lambs, and Night of the Living Dead coming out, in addition to Elevator to the Gallows, An Actor's Revenge, The Hero, and Tom Jones. I wonder if they have anything major for that month in 2019 too? Detour would certainly fit.

The "surprise" reintroduction of StudioCanal titles would make for a pretty big month. Not predicting that, but it would be very surprising to see Ran or Tales of Hoffmann to be dropped with little prior fanfare. |

A Rohmer Blugrade of Six Moral Tales would be great in time for the flash sale. Also while it's not very likely this early, it be nice if Le Cercle Rouge dropped as part of a Studiocanal deal. Also, I continue to hold out for Chungking Express and Detour.

Since the Detour poster has dropped, I can predict it's announcement within the next 2-3 months.

Per an earlier discussion, watching Montgomery Clift act alongside Katharine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor in Suddenly, Last Summer is more than worth the $20 plus it will take to own the blu-Ray. Three fantastic talents at the top of their game. Hepburn, especially, is in rare form. One of my favorite performances of hers, for sure, up there with The Lion in Winter. She just floats effortlessly amongst Tennessee Williams’ dialogue. And I’m becoming a big fan of Montgomery Clift’s. There’s such an ease to his delivery, yet the viewer feels as if there’s a tidal wave of emotion just waiting to be loosed. In this film, he’s caught between his personal feelings for Taylor’s “Miss Catharine”, and his professional duties as a surgeon. With a lesser actor, you might feel he was a helpless pawn on Mrs. Venable’s chess board. But Clift oozes strength, compassion and integrity. I’ve about 40 minutes left, and I don’t see him falling to Hepburn’s steely demeanor.
Multiple films that were previously released by Twilight Time have been picked up by other distributors after their licensing run expired, some by Kino. I’d love to see Criterion get ahold of this in a few years. |

I don't see Criterion picking up Suddenly, Last Summer when TT's license expires. The Heiress, A Place in the Sun and/or Freud would be great gets. |
