A Criterion edition of Fred Savage’s Little Monsters? Someone other than me remembers that movie!

No announcements on the usual day, and then an email newsletter the next day with no mention of announcements? They're doing this on purpose right?

In all seriousness, I would love to pick that up! haha...I mean it doesn't have to be Criterion, but my childhood says its a worthy addition to the collection!

Doesn't Comic Con begin this week? Perhaps they're going to announce GODZILLA at Comic Con, hence the lack of announcements so far this week.

Regarding noir, my favorite is KISS ME DEADLY.

i also really like Sam Fuller's THE NAKED KISS and SHOCK CORRIDOR, and John Frankenheimer's SECONDS.

Seconds is really good. When I first watched it I liked it so much that I immediately went for seconds and watched it again.

What are the prospects for more releases of Asian action films, particularly those released by Eureka? I've been debating whether to pick up the Eureka releases of "Once Upon A Time In China" Trilogy, "Project A" I & II, "Drunken Master" and more, but Criterion's release of the "Police Story" films has made me wonder if the others will soon arrive in the US market. What do you think?

Is Toho typically at SDCC?

Also, in the past Criterion has announced the Ingmar box and Olympic box as a separate announcement from the normal monthly titles didn't they?

You haven't seen it? In that case I'm jealous, seeing it for the first time is really an unforgettable experience... I watched the Ruscico DVD ages ago and it wasn't good back then. Got my hands on the Japanese Blu-Ray last month. What a fantastic film it is.

They took a long time. I mean Supercop was released on LaserDisc and nothing was released since then until Police Story. I wouldn't hold my breath but I would love to see more in the collection but it might not happen anytime soon.

I watched the whole BRD Trilogy over the last weekend. I did not watch any of those 3 movies before and I don't think I have ever watched any whole trilogy in the same weekend...generally I like some breaks between films that are related.

Veronica Voss & The Marriage of Maria Braun were so good...
Did not like Lola that much...but overall a very powerful set of films.

This will be their first appearance. They'll be sharing the booth with Bandai I believe to show off some Godzilla figures, and also some other stuff for the franchise's 65th anniversary.

I’m still kind of annoyed Supercop wasn’t included with Police Story 1 & 2... I guess it wasn’t available

Supercop is with Miramax. In fact, Miramax still have rights to a lot of Hong Kong action films: https://www.miramax.com/catalog/action/

Is Mirimax no longer part of Disney/Buena Vista though?

Not sure how accurate that list is. Freejack was recently released by Sony on Blu-ray. The Bruce Lee movies were released by Shout!. Last of the Mohicans is Fox, and a bunch of other movies have been released by other companies.
