I suppose you could if the set's still in print; you could always buy it again if those films aren't included in the box. If it's OOP, though, I'd hold onto it at least until the announcement.

Not as well known as other Kurosawas like Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Yojimbo, etc this is very good lesser known Kurosawa that really needs to make it to BluRay alongside Stray Dog and Red Beard.

That Demy set is one of my favorites as well. I do love musicals, and Deneuve is one of my all-time favorites. There was a period a few years ago where I must have watched Umbrellas -- and the others, but Umbrellas mostly -- I don't know how many times over the course of like a month. I was addicted.
![]() It's possible that I burned myself out on Demy a bit. I'm going to get back, soon. I think Umbrellas is one of the most lovely films ever made, by anyone, in any language. |

Almost every Indicator release uses a master supplied by the licensor.
One of the reasons that some Criterion's are lighter in extras is that they really try an avoid redundant content, so interviews are often cut tighter than those on other labels.(I seen someone recently mention an Indicator title, I want to say it is Night of the Demon, has two pieces on the music that are almost identical in content. That sort of redundancy strikes me as padding as the two pieces should've been cut together into one featurette.) |
