Once again in a small market which Detroit technically is, no one can complete with the Yankees payroll. Those 5 rings Jeter has look at your teams spending compared to mine.

And the excuses start to rain down. You had two good chances to win but your teams choked. The payroll excuse is just that an excuse. The top payroll team does not win every year contrary to popular belief. It takes more than payroll to win a WS

LOL what excuses I can tell you exactly what happened, 2006 Pitching Choked, 2012 Hitting Choked, 2013 relief Pitching Choked against the Red Sox. There is no excuses on my end if my teams play like shit I call them out on it and you should know this from experience with me in other threads. Tigers have some serious flaws this year 1 of which they hopefully addressed. They still need a bat before the deadline.

Payroll does not always win a title but there are examples of when it does IE 2002 Red Wings was a title yes but definitely a bought title. Don't sit there and play coy and dumb regarding what the Yankees have bought. They have bought players and titles, I don't consider you ignorant but a fact is just that a fact. CC contract is the perfect example of tossing money at a problem to get what you want.

Small market my ass. Who was it that game Miguel Cabrera a huge contract? What small market team does that? You never see the Rays doing that (and they are a small market team).
