According to ESPN Dallas' Radio "Sources", Josh Hamilton's camp is looking for 7 guaranteed years, 175 million dollars to sign.

Seriously, good luck to whichever team signs up for that.

With luck the tigers will put the A's out of there misery tomorrow and have a couple of Days to rest up for the Yankees on Saturday. Tigers Yankees should again be one great series if it plays out to be that. Last series went 5 Games and had multiple extra inning games. I honestly think they would be our easiest run to the World series should we make it out of both of these series.

I think he'll get the $25 million per year average, but nowhere near 7 years. Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas thinks the Rangers should go 3 years, $75 million guaranteed with a vesting option for a 4th year which would vest if Hamilton stays healthy.

It sounds like most of the big spending teams aren't going to be interested in Hamilton. The Yankees are looking to cut payroll, not add a contract like Hamilton's. The Cubs are rebuilding and it wouldn't make sense to add Hamilton when they likely won't contend for another 2-3 years minimum. The Dodgers already are overstocked in the outfield. The Angels and Phillies likely couldn't afford to add another big contract. The Red Sox just got out of bad contracts they gave to older players and probably don't want to give a big contract to a 31-year-old. The Tigers could be a possibility, particularly if they don't win a World Series and if their owner thinks Hamilton would make them the favorites for a title.

LOL Tigers are tapped man, they are not going to add another 20 million dollar man when they need a Catcher, SS, 2B and OF, and relief and closing pitching.

As someone who has collected autographs for years, the policemen were the dicks. While you're doing your job, you shouldn't be asking for autographs, especially during the game. Also, it's against Major League Baseball rules for them to sign autographs during a game.

+1. It might have been much different if it was either before or after the game. You can't ask during the game. And they're the ones crying about them being unfair. I would have been livid just like Swish.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. It would be one thing if they were actually in the game playing. Aside, they simply could have just denied the request instead of making a huge ***** fest fuss about it. OMG, this totally ruined the night and cause them to lose all focus (far more than all the booing they might get from fans when at bat.

Frankly, I wouldn't want their autographs after finding out how classless they are (aside to sell and make some cash off it.)

lol MD State trooper professionalism at its finest.

What happened there? It wasn't something the Orioles themselves did. Instead, two Maryland state troopers, part of the security force at Camden Yards, asked a pair of New York Yankees stars — Nick Swisher and Derek Jeter — for their autographs. During the ninth inning!

You're an idiot if you think they did any of this. They got pissed about being asked. They didn't blame a loss on it

That vesting option makes sense contingent on being healthy, but people are underestimating the amount of money floating around baseball now. MLB's TV contracts are basically goldmines because they provide 162 games a year in the local market with ratings that can't be DVRed.

The minimum bar to sign Hamilton will be $140 million, likely six years with a seventh optional year.

Yankees 1/33 RISP in the ALDS . This has been the Achilles heel this year. Even if we don't win this one, we took 1 from them on the road and I doubt they win 2/3 at Yankee Stadium.
