The trailer being an '18' doesn't mean much, because trailers are classified differently, since the audience cannot anticipate what is going to be shown. Thus, several '15' films have '18' trailers, and '12' films have '15' trailers, and so on.

Considering that this is a comic book action-comedy movie, they're either going to have to push it pretty far to get an '18', or it'll be '18' because of a couple moments in an otherwise '15' film. I doubt this will be as vicious as, say, Dredd, which was a proper 18 cert.

Still, the lack of BBFC certification by now pretty much rules it out for Cineworld's secret screening, I'd say.

Ah, appreciate the info, didn't realise that trailers could have a higher rating than the movie. I wonder what the BBFC will go with. Aren't R-rated movies usually 15's in the UK?

Usually. Like McCrunchy said, it's kinda rare a film released theatrically will get an 18, we probably get 3 or 4 major theatrical releases rated 18 maximum a year. They tend to rated stuff based on context over content, so Deadpool can probably get away with more considering it's less serious and more comedic, especially with more fast paced action scenes where your dwelling on a body count over a serious deaths of people, as opposed to something like Legend, where a guy gets repeatedly stabbed to death and that's like the only major death in the entire film.

Yes, it was strange that they suddenly came on with this clinical, serious female voiceover just because it was about checking women's breasts. Huge missed opportunity, in my opinion, and it almost felt like Deadpool was the victim of sexism.

Not sure why I had a dream about this movie the other night. But all I remember was coming away from it disappointed. The main reason was because they made it so he was not indestructible, but whenever he was killed they just made a clone of him that retained all his memories.

It must be because my hype for the movie is higher than any superhero movie recently, and X-Men Origins Wolverine and Green Lantern are still in the back of my head.

All that being said I highly doubt Ryan Reynolds would have agreed to make the movie, if it wasn't done right. And I have faith that it will be awesome.

Exactly. The character is crass and doesn't have any lines to cross. I can't see why they thought that him narrating (or even acting out for that matter) the breast exam instructions would cross said non-existent lines.

Would it have been insensitive to their potential female audience? Would it have kept women from seeing the film? Or, would it have made them respect the filmmakers for acknowledging that this information is important to be disseminated via ANY and ALL means? Besides, Deadpool could have encouraged the ladies to get their men to help out. Kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak... while simultaneously making everyone happy "in the end."
