Yeah, Canadian ratings are usually one lower then what they get in the States.

I found a pretty funny comparison:

Django Unchained - 14A

The Hateful Eight - 18A

Besides Eight's sexual violence, I don't see that big of a stretch in content with these two films.

We British Columbians are just a bit more relaxed and chill in all aspects of life. We can handle the "hardcore content" better without getting offended or being influenced to copy the behaviour portrayed in films.

Well, Hateful Eight, to me, seemed less cartoonish than Django was.

If so, your original question doesn't even matter as they would not have gone to the theatre to see ANY cut of the film.
I don't think anyone mentioned skipping seeing the cinema release....

But, the ambiguous usage of just the words "pass on the theatrical" left it open to interpretation... which someone interpreted as "skipping it in theatres."

Do notice that both of my posts after the statement in question acknowledge that it was all most likely a reference to the Blu-ray release.

As did my initial post ( I referenced the two home releases of DoFP )....

I can't honestly see the point of holding back on the unrated home release, I'd have thought more people would prefer it....

I'll definitely be passing on the theatrical for this one. Might check it out on blu ray though.

i'll def. be checking this out in the theater @ least 3x.

once w/the wife for date night
once w/my buddies for man-date night
i'll leave work early and go to the theater on $5 tuesdays and watch it myself

i'll buy the initial bluray release. then i'll buy the director's cut release. i'll even buy the uber-release if it has something worth owning.

Didn't like the look of the trailers tbh, didn't find them funny although I'm hoping there is some good action to make it worth checking out on blu ray.

I feel like a possible director's cut in the future as hinted might be called something along the lines of "Deadpool: Unprotected Edition" or "Deadpool: The Ultimate Chimichanga Cut."

It would be funny if they made a play on the DoFP Rogue Cut, and called it the Rouge Cut, since his costume is red.

Yeah, and the rest of us Canucks know why (imagine smoking smiley face here since apparently even having them smoking is bad to we don't get one)

I wonder if the director's cut will just be extended scenes or what. Since it is already R, I can't see them cutting out a lot other than for pacing.

Well, Tim Miller already was talking about a scene between Reynolds and T.J. Miller getting so offensive that it could of pushed it to NC-17, it's unknown if Tim Miller wants that scene out in public or not. For all we know, this cut could just replace the footage with alternate takes, we'll just have to wait for the answers.
