Honestly with the amount of people I'm seeing talk about the movie who had no idea who deadpool was 6 months ago. I kinda think anything below 80 opening will be a little let down.

I'm just hearing too much chatter from people who are oblivious to the character want to see it.

To the point that some on my friends list are complaining about people who didn't know anything about him talking about it [Personally thats a good thing for the brand].

I'm just excited that the character could get the marketing/publicity I've wanted for him since Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and that one or two spot on X-Men animated series lol.

I would assume so. I saw someone on my Facebook newsfeed post about how Deadpool has been around for years and people are JUST NOW becoming socially aware of his presence.

To be fair, If the critics PAN it that would almost be a justification and would certainly encourage anyone in the know to go see it. If the critics praise it (we are only talking scores here not content of the review which is way more important) I would be more critical and nervous for it. Main reason is that this character should not play well for the average New York/California hipster that passes as a film critic these days. If they really like it that may be a sign that the character has missed the mark.

The deadpool bandwagon has been chugging along for years before this movie. There's nothing secretive or exclusive about this club, no matter how bad some may want it.

Not in a million years. Why would they give Fox a cut of their giant box office haul to use a character? Why do that when you 1) have a big cast as it is and 2) that cast -- Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Widow, etc -- are popular, box office successes on their own?

There's no reason for Deadpool to be there, and there's certainly no reason for Disney to want to include a Fox character who isn't part of their established universe and who would pop up out of the blue, taking time away from characters who have been on this train for years.

Exactly. I've known about Deadpool for some time. I think mainly because of the controversy surrounding his role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the fact that I see hundreds of Deadpool cosplay's whenever I go to a convention. I've just never been fully invested in his character as much as I am now.

I think it would almost be better to have other characters be in future Deadpool movies instead of he bridging into other universes. This way we can have other characters interact with DP in his environment.
