This is my biggest issue with all of these negative reviews popping up. They all seem to focus on this film being a simple revenge and not something with deeper meaning or a grander scale. And they focus on that as something negative. Look at how enjoyable Ant-Man was in the face of mostly the same points of criticism. At its core, Ant-Man was a simple heist film with very loose tie-ins to the MCU. Likewise, Deadpool seems to be (because I haven't seen it yet) doing the exact same thing, but it is dialing the humour up to 11 while providing graphic adult suitable violence.

This is the only downside to the brilliant and revolutionary idea of the MCU. In the eyes of the media, the MCU has now created an expectation that nobody can accomplish with comic book films. Everything MUST be part of a bigger picture while being heavily related to said picture. Instead of just enjoying the fringe stories of said universes, they all seem to want every story to be a cornerstone of a pyramid of stories.

This is probably why I am able to enjoy so many of these films. I go in and just let myself enjoy the story contained withing that single runtime while picking up on the subtle details that are the puzzle pieces of the end game. It seems that there are a lot of people who go in and focus on those subtle puzzle pieces as the main purpose of their viewing. Those people are 100% destined to be unimpressed with their experience.

Perspective is everything!

Deadpool will make an appearance at the Sanremo Festival tonight.

If you are wondering, it's the second biggest music competition in the world. The Sanremo Festival on the Italian TV - RAI UNO.

"Deadpool" will make some sort of appearance, as confirmed by the Italian Facebook page.

I was going first showing on Thursday, but my friends grandmother passed away so we pushed the showing until Sunday. Hopefully i avoid spoilers for the jokes.

Go start slamming with doors then. No Dolby Atmos on Blu-ray. FOX saves Dolby Atmos for 4K UHD Blu-ray exclusively.

I agree with this. I was just saying how almost every superhero is about mass destruction on an epic scale. I like that stuff, but whatever happened to superheroes just stopping some crooks or saving cats out of a tree? LOL. But seriously, that's one of the things I loved about The Wolverine, it wasn't about saving the world, but more small-scale personal. The Netflix Daredevil series was also refreshing in this post-911 age we live in. But yeah, I'm still very much looking forward to Batman v Superman, X-Men Apocalypse, and CA: Civil War.

Found my first negative review that goes after fans.

"The result is rarely boring, but it’s not half as smart, funny or subversive as it clearly believes itself to be. That said, sweaty 15-year-old boys are going to be in heaven."

It's generally a bad review because it's IGN. Why are you people even paying attention to that site anymore? It's garbage, written by a bunch of kids who couldn't get jobs in real journalism due to the fact that they take bribes of money, gifts, and sex to give good review scores. There's nothing respectable about that website in the least.

the second a "critic" insults the audience......the people the movie was made for.....any movie.......i immediately stop reading and won't even consider listening to anything they have to say about another movie from that point on.

Pretty much, I also love how he thinks it is only boys who enjoy Deadpool. Two of my friends who love Deadpool more then me are girls, one even dressed up as him for a Con.

My fiancé is the hardcore dead pool fan in the family, not me. MANY women are fans of deadpool. His fan base is very diverse.

i've posted it here before.....my wife insisted i take her to see this instead of me going out w/my buddies.

my sister is watching the kids for us......she asked what we were going to see and i told her Deadpool and she said "well, i'll just leave them home w/Randy (my brother-in-law) and i'll come too".......so she liked the looks of the trailer too.

Deadpool is the only comic I've ever been able to get my wife to read. She specifically requested we go see the movie this weekend. Attacking an audience just shows how closed-minded they are to the whole angle of the movie.

I knew this movie would be polarizing but it's actually kind of hilarious how much some people hate it. Looking at LB it really seems to get under some people's skin

Yup, which is why I was actually looking forward to the negative reviews since I can see who is actually worth listening to. When someone doesn't like the humor in the film, it becomes much easier to judge what people are actually worth listening to when they give their opinions on other films since there will be those who will actually review the film despite not liking it, giving valid points objectively explaining why they didn't like it and those who won't, resulting in some way of degrading some aspect of the film usually towards the people who actually enjoy the film, like the guy I posted about.

Let's leave the silly Gamergate crap out of the thread, you know, because it's all about "ethics".

You'd fit right in over there.

Shows their true colors, lol. I don't pay much attention to individual critics but I may very well pore through the reviews for that very reason.

Reviews on this one are tricky because they'll be more akin to a comedy than a straight super-hero action movie, i.e. all over the place. All I had to see was that some people (including my favorite YouTube reviewer) absolutely loved the film, and so I know there's a chance I'll love it too.
