Hopefully that'll mean that studios will be more willing to make Rated R Superhero films again.

You need to see this NOW! It's a moral imperative and you need to make it happen.

I really enjoyed it and thought it was a solid movie all around. My only complaint is that the main villian's line was kind of weak. Just some guy with no backstory to speak of. In most films he'd be a henchman to a real villian.

I work tomorrow and I'm going to Mockingjay on Sunday and Monday. Those plans could change of course if someone else picks up the ticket. The problem with that is the one person here who might buy me a ticket hates crowds and comic book films so I'd rule it out.

I saw it in XD as well. Amazing sound system. That's also what my face was like for most of the movie.

XD for me as well. I'm going back tomorrow to watch it again and I've only done that with two other movies.

Film:
I just got back. Great film, hilarious and there's never a dull moment, great acting, action, and writing. The energy and passion is so obvious and the film is better for it. This will probably become a classic like Burton's Batman, Blade, and The Dark Knight. I will try to see this 2-4 more times before it leaves theaters, I really loved it that much

4.5/5 (rounded to 5/5 on the poll).

Audience:
I went to a 6:25 showing, there were a few families there but the kids looked no younger than 10. The 5:55 next door to my showing was different, crap-ton of families going in with some kids looking as young as 6, I know it depends on the child (I was watching Little Shop of Horrors more than Disney movies when I was still in Kindergarten, so I get it), but come on, there's no way that many families were willing to take their kids to the movie knowingly of it's content. My audience was great, laughing at all the jokes but never being disruptive by talking or crap.

Trailers:
Captain America: Civil War - Need to finish Phase Two before watching this, but this looks like a really good turning point to start Phase Three

Hardcore Henry - Great use of Queen, fun perspective, and honestly looks to have better filmed action than some movies not in first person (I'm looking at you Bourne series). Plus I loved the director's music videos filmed the same way, so that's a bonus.

The Purge: Election Year - Anarchy was a great improvement and I'm glad this is a direct follow up. Anarchy was essentially a Punisher movie if made by John Carpenter, I hope this continues that. Highly looking forward to it.

The Brothers Grimsby - Like Mark Strong, don't really care for Sasha Baron Cohen, could be fun but I'm not really looking forward to it.

Suicide Squad - Double the Queen (and that's perfectly fine), love the tone of this trailer and I hope that's the tone of the real film instead of the comic-con trailer. I'm cautiously looking forward to it, but the conflicting tones of the trailers has me worried.

Independence Day: Resurgence - Aliens makes things go boom in a sequel that's way too late, next.

Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates - Effron needs to pick better comedies, he's very funny and charismatic but he hasn't been given writing to prove it. Not really promising but the trailer gave me a few chuckles.

I will also be supporting this in theaters. It's very rare that I do get to see a movie in theaters, but I'm not missing this one on the big screen!

7.1 or Atmos? I heard it in Atmos and while the overhead sound sourcing was used judicially - when it did kick in for a few scenes it was highly effective.

The only notable trailer I had was civil war. I really enjoyed the movie more than I thought i would.

In Deadpool, a modestly scaled and mostly straightforward superhero origin story is supercharged with brutality, profanity, self-referential cynicism, and a certain form of anarchic posturing. The film is bogus to a degree—one can sense it adhering to formula even as it feigns kinky singularity, particularly when it confuses calling attention to a cliché with subverting a cliché—and a tad wearying by the end after mounting so, so many dead bodies and one-liners, but it also has an eager-to-please charm and a visual fluidity courtesy of first-time feature director Tim Miller, an F/X technician whose credits include Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and the oily-sexy opening credits of David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. After playing a widely maligned version of 'Pool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which turned a character most famous for his deranged loquacity into a mute automaton), Ryan Reynolds' commitment to nerd redemption is clearly enormous, and the role suits his charismatic-bordering-on-frantic screen presence. Newcomer Brianna Hildebrand is also striking as über-obscure Professor X student Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and one hopes she is given more to do in future X-Men and/or Deadpool sequels.
